Em, total noob in this. i thought id experiment before mounting the led lights to my psp
so i used like 2x aa batteries. Stick them together, wire positives to the positive side of led, then negatives to negative side of led,
it doesnt light.
Any chance of the wire not being responsive?
-
i dont think 2 aa will power a led but there is a positive and negitive on the led it has to be right check that to test led i use a usb cable thats cut open and use the red wire positve black negitive but with a 603 u have to put a 10 ohm resistor on the positive or ull fry the led instantly
-
startes acctully try testing on a 4v, 5v, or 3v coz there the voltage of thte of soldering points u can use
-
if U use blue leds or white it wont worx they lites up on 3.6V.
-
lol, i found out mine work with my solderin iron. it lights up when you touch the negative.
-
im using red led's
9v batt
something like this right?

curious.
1 aa battery = 1.5 v
2 aa battery = 3.0 v
how is it that 2 aa cant light up the led?
then another question i wanna ask. I find it that its hard for me to solder the wire because, when i melt the solder, it kinda balls up and say if i try to put the ball of solder together with the wire, the wire kinda pushes it away. The wire doesnt blend with the solder. and yes the solder ball is still hot..
-
probably to strong u need a resistor
-
did u wire the batts in series + to - or paralell + to +?
-
parallel. + to + and - to -
oo and the issue that my wire not blending with the solder?? its a single core 0.5mm
should i switch wires and make it a 0.2mm / 7 strain?
-
wiring in paralell will double the current but keep the same voltage, AA voltage is aprox 1.5v and depending on what type of leds you are using this may not be enough voltage. Wire them in series so + to - to get the voltage to at least 3v but if its blue leds you will need more voltage. (the current doesn't really matter as long as its over 20mA lol )

today in D&T (Deign & Techonooly) and where making a power generator so its like a metal pole on this handle connect to this machine and where you touch stuff with the poll it make it work like theres a another wire with a clip on it for the negative (or ground) so we learnt all this stuff today (by the way this is a combined project with metal works (to make a box to hold it) anyways like and you control the voltage control and i think you can by stuff like that from handy shops or hardware for $50 witch might be good coz u can control the voltage on mine

if i can make out what you are saying, you think he should test it with a power surply... or what are you saying?
