Title: Analog Nub on the RIght Side
Post by: SYSTEM aka (Cyberpyrot) on March 27, 2008, 04:35:08 PM
Thats Right I said "ANALOG" on the right side.. This is not the Razor X. and this design will only be made for the PSP Slim.. This will be analog so when you barly press the sony nub on the right side up it will move the cross hairs slowly as you move the nub up more the cross hairs will pick up speed. You will be poping an un modified Sony analog Nub into the right side of the slim and connect to the chip I invented. Befor I go into details on how it works let me get a few things out in the open...

1: I will not release the blueprints or the code until they are mass produced. This is because of the complexity of the design..

2: it will take months to produce but we will post a poc soon like this weekend.

3: this does not stop the razor x. You should get and enjoy the razor and when this board is ready Upgrading will be simple..

4: Since the complexity of this board Imagesco.com will produce and coolmods will have the option to be a reseller.

ok now to the "How it Works" you will buy a sony analog nub and solder wires to the 4 pins on the underside then solder those wires to the board we producethen connect the ribon cables from the psp mobo to the PCB we produce and fit the nub. Of corce there will be some more detailed intructions down the line...

Once installed there will be an true analog nub on the right side like the one on the left side. but it will have a few added featers. you will be able to select diffrent modes by pressing the " ♪ " button for .5 seconds the

First mode:  will be analog Face buttons we acomplish this by hijacking the ribon cable and running the analog signal through our microcontroller our software decodes it then feeds the data through the ribon cable directly into the mobo.

Second Mode: will map the D-pad to the right nub and convert that to analog as well. This feature will allow you to customize the psp how you want it. It will also alow home brew developers to further push there technology.

All this will be done thanks to the hard work of our microcontroller modding group and the dedication of our members.. If any one would like to donate to the R&D budget please send to Sales@acidmods.com all new technologe is researched from money out of our own pockets we get nothing from the people who mass produce it till later and that is a very small percentage and just covers server expences..

Wow powerful news esp when you have just released razor x do you not sleep? was thinking of getting a psp slim for my girlfriend and i am tempted to do this for her.

Just to clarify though: from what I understand of the first option of this new analog stick, functionally (when playing games) it is basically the same as razor x right?

Ok to give you an example of the diffrences in technology I made some graphs...

On the left side you have the Razor X design as you can see you have 8 points of directions. so when using the razor you can achieve diagonal by moving equal distences between up and left directions. So this being said the Razor X was a big leap in technology since befor you had to move up first then left to get your crosshairs in a diagonal direction.

The Razor X has two speed of movement on and off, Stop and go. meaning you can move the cursor or stop..

Now the Gen 360° technology in comparison has 360 variations of directions meaning you can move the cursor in many positions faster allowing you to get the drop on your enemies alot faster ultimatly meaning more head shots... Lets think about that for a second you can now move in any direction you want with the right analog stick..

With the Gen 360° you have 255 levels of intecity meaning if you barly push up on the stick you will move slowly as you increase the distance from dead center your cursor will increase in speed. So with all that being said the futur of gaming has changed.. Now we control how games are played...

Following the "X" theme I suggest the codename be changed to Analog X...  Just an Idea...

So Cyberpyrot,
I'm planing on putting the Razor X into my PSP Slim after the tutorial is done.
If I read it right, your saying that I should still do that then later it will be easy to upgrade my Razor X right side Nub to the Gen 360°?

I just don't want to take the time to install the Razor X then a few months later have to rip it all out and start all over again.

Well, um...  They stole my idea...  Yeah that's it, they stole my idea, before I even knew it was my idea...  Yeah...  But anyway, code-names for products and developmental items have been used for years, so no harm in naming it the same name.

This is a really good idea. but stupid ass sony couldnt do this in the first place. what kind of company does not think of two analog sticks. allow using the buttoms to turn. thats why the rumors of xbox handheld with two joysticks will sell much better coz xbox does have halo. lol.

I'm so looking forward to this, I've tried to contact them asking how I could help but no responce. I don't know how to make this, but if its money they need I'm willing to put as much money as I can. I would love to have this in my PSP and be able to play some PSP games with dual nubs using either the directional pad or the ▲, O, X, [] pad.

I was hoping to hear something by now, but nothing... not even a tutorial on how to install the Razor-X in a slim...

It seem like they put out a video saying they can do it and got us all railed up, but then nothing.
(I know that you can take the PSP FAT tutorial and modify it a little to get it working)

I'd just like a little information if there is any.
Its a forum, so you know, you can bounce ideas off of each other... not just hide in the dark then spring something on us...

thats my little rant... sorry if I hurt anyones feelings.
