uhh i never herd of useing capasitors on sound mod resistors maybe and a lm386 audio amplyfyer in the ic drawer? those leds are verry dim compared to 603s but they work

u got the wrong stuff u need 0603 leds, 191k ohm resistor, 31k ohm resistor, and a lm386

Videos to help in every step:

http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=psp+trigger+mod&search_type=

Better pics of drilling and installing the LED:

http://www.llamma.com/PSP/psp_led_lighted_trigger_buttons.htm

Here is the led you need to get:

http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?sofocus=unknown&sbrftog=1&dfsp=32&from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=0603+LED&sacat=-1%26catref%3DC6&bs=Search&sargn=-1%26saslc%3D2&sadis=200&fpos=89149&sabfmts=1&saobfmts=insif&ftrt=1&ftrv=1&saprclo=&saprchi=&fsop=32%26fsoo%3D2

here is a guied that is good for soldering:

http://www.avrfreaks.net/modules/FreaksArticles/files/15/Low%20Cost%20SMD%20Soldering%20Guide.pdf

the negative side on the LED yes they are very very very small if you dont have good eyes et a magnify glass. but the negative side is the side were the line points to and the positve is the side were line goes from corner to corner. it will for a T on some LED's the bottom of the T is negative the top of the T is positive. they are not always marked.

get a much lower (5 microfarads) capacitor and dont get the disc type, get the smd ones, they're much smaller and better, also get 0603 smd led's they are very small but u wont fit those big led's in unless you remove the umd drive,
good luck

I dont understand what the capaciters are for? As far as I know all you need for trigger mod is :
LEDs
30awg kynar wire/magnet wire
1 x 10ohm resistor
soldering iron

you should use 0603 smd leds

30 awg?

30 awg kynar wire is an alternative type of wire that can be used in place of magnet wire.

a capacitor is a semi conductor,it can hold electrical current but cannot store it for any decent amount of time though, thats what a battery is for,e.g if u put a small (i mean very small) capacitor on a + of an led,the led will slowly turn on because the capacitor is storing the charge, the led will also turn off slowly because it is releasing the charge, capacitance is measured in farads, but a farad is a very large unit of electricity,so in normal everyday use capacitors are measured in microfarads, capacitors have a multitude of uses in modding

if you are doing an led trigger mod if you add a 5-10 microfarad capacitor to the + side going to the leds it gives a very cool fade on fade off effect and gives a very professional look  to you trigger mod

(took me ages to type this up,plz show d love and click good post)

i used larger than 0603 leds in my trigger but thats just cause i didnt want a bright light flashing in my eyes while i played my games and i know you can turn them of if thats how you decide on wiring it up but i like the light and the volume just not so much light i mostly used lordnicos tut beings that i have a slim but i used some refrences from the fat one im not sure wich tut but it had the diagram for the resistors and the lm386 also if your planning on going to radio shack for parts i dont think they carry anything except the lm386 if your like me i couldnt wait to have some mailed to me so i bought a pack of 15k ohm and used two to equal on 30k ohm and had to do the same with the 191 but that came out to 3 different ones it made it harder to fit but i did it just have to plann ahead and take your time here is mine the third blue led is a 0603 i used just for on lookers to be jelious and to blind them with my psp's awsomness haha good luck manhttp://youtube.com/watch?v=M2HLtPMSJcI (http://youtube.com/watch?v=M2HLtPMSJcI)
