you don't need a resistor
for straight connection to the speaker

i never use them and none of my leds have burned out
(all 0603 smd leds -> white, blue, red)

1. i used 2 blue 0603 leds without a resistor so im guessing its fine

2. either one will do

3. i found i would find it annoying always having the leds on when music or game sound was playing and i didnt know how to wire to the hold switch so instead i put in a dip switch which works perfectly :)

Here, is a SMALL 3 way switch i found from a Radio,

(https://acidmods.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi25.tinypic.com%2F4g6sdy.jpg&hash=4c8b20c8eea537a677c501805029bd87c3de2b08)

(https://acidmods.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi28.tinypic.com%2F2ah5vmx.jpg&hash=d05b85ee410dbbb6ed9f5e587e004f9b63edb740)

So basically the switch is like this:

__!~!______!~!______!~!____
                                       |
  P    N     P       P      P       |
                                       |
  P     N    P       P      P       |
                                       |
________________________-|

P = Prong
N= NO prong

!~! =   Switch position (there is 3, left, right and center)

I was wondering, FIRST WHERE can i fit this switch?, ive seen guys put it near the battery door....

Second;  Which prongs do i connect it to, if i only want 1 switch?  (Like on /off)

THIRD (this is for smart people, with skills),   Can i use this 3 way switch to,   1turn of 2sound activitated(sodder to speakers) then 3 always stay on?

you could do this with a dip switch, not sure about the switch you have though. i picked up a 8 pin dip switch at radio shack for $3 but cant find anywhere to fit it

that switch looks too big to fit behind the battery cover so only place i could think of if if you have your umd drive removed then somewhere there, or you could do what this guy has done: https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php?topic=17073.0 (https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php?topic=17073.0)
