Title: Sound mod Problems.
Post by: sprocketme2 on April 06, 2008, 05:21:10 PM: Alright so over the past few months I have read up on everything, then re-read everything. I ordered parts drew diagrams and practiced soldering. Finally this week my last parts came in and I did my first PSP mod. :tup: Yay me :tup: right?

To start off with, when I first closed my psp up, the sound activated leds were very very dim (and not sound reactive). Started thinking and I realized that the + and - inputs for the IC chip were reversed. I opened up my psp, switched the resistors and wires then closed it back up. Now my lights were very bright but still not sound reactive. Whats wrong? As far as I know everything is connected correctly but my lights just dont react.

how did u hook it up?

I just broke down and took it completly apart and I put electrical tape over the chip so it wouldnt make a short with anything. Seems to help. Hmm idk i wired my right to the speakers and there bright as heck ill post a pic of mine when i got a chance.

sprocketme2 you did kinda of a good job but organize your wire more man...i would make a plan on that so it dnt look so messy for the next mod u do if u do another mod on it...

umm sprocketme2 what type of LED did you use...
also do this take all the wiring out to where i cans ee what u did..cuz u must of missed something if its not working properly look at that tutorial again and double check and organize your wire so its a lot easier
