mmmm.. yeah, is Ok, but if you want real bang for your buck, go with AMD processors

they dont perform as well though and then i have to go ati basically dont i to get the best compatibility.

That was just a personal preferance, but for Intel, i guess that is a pretty good deal. It all depends on what your gonna do with the computer, you probably wont need 4gbs of mem. I would rather get 2 gigs of mem and buy a good graphics card. But again, that is just personal preferance, and it all depends on what you wanna use it for.

Lol.

AMD processors are so underpowered compared to Intel, and im an AMD fanboy.

If Gaming isnt your main priority, the rule of thumb is get the best CPU, then the most Ram, then Rest on GPU, then rest on Hdd and so on, but if you are gaming, GPU comes first, then CPU, then Ram etc.

I want to able to play the newer rts' thats all really everything else can go on ps3 or xbox 360 when i get one. So would I need to go far for the gpu. I want to play them at a nice setting. I'm thinking of getting a mid level gpu first then upgrading later since it will be summer by the time i get a comp and i will be doing movie editing and 3d animation more so.

9600GT and Pentium Dual Core E2140, aslong as your gonna over clock it *3Ghz is an easy hit with the pentiums*
