ok so i swapped my wifi board with another ta79 one now all it does is make a squeal outta the left nothing outta right. any idea on anything else to try would be greatly appreciated  thanks

u sure its the board?
it could be something else like the gears in the umd..
maybe you connected it wrong (doubt it tho)
idk, open it up and look at it

how could UMD gears mess w/ sound? have messed w/ it and have had no success. really need help

the umd gears sometimes get caught on the case (dx clear case) and will make a sound
but does the wifi board even work?

Did you mess anything up on the Mobo? that is were all the sound is sent and stuff.. make sure that you put the connector all the way in, i dont see how the wifi  board would affect it.

ARE THE SPEAKERS IN ALL THE WAY?

i did mess the 5v connection but it still works i dunno what it is the psp is about to get smashed
the case is factory never changed it

doubt that it will ever play sound again :angry: yes the speakers are plugged all the way in
