Title: Request: Basic USB "switch" tutorial
Post by: JoblessPunk on May 10, 2008, 02:02:08 AM
I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to make a USB switch. I have a few things in mind and all I want to do is to be able to "plug" the attachment in the usb drive and "unplug" it with a flip of a switch.

make sense?

thanks!

Well heres a couple of things to know... The new PSP slim (i'm not sure about the Phat) uses USB On the GO which is a new crazy flavour of USB. There is now a 5th pin, also if you look at the USB whitepapers there are also resistors attached to the D+ and D- connectors depending on the type of device. If it were me I would do a little more research and probably end up de-soldering a 5 way dip switch off of an old motherboard.

why not just disconnect the device i dont see any reason for a switch unless the usb is for a mod
