Well, I realized that you can get ram on Windows Vista with a usb stick and use a hd as ram. I was wondering... if such a thing exist for the psp. I mean, even if it's just a 100mb, it should help right? To be able to speed up homebrew and emulation would be awesome.

I don't think that is possibal unfortunatly. but i maybe wrong. :dntknw:

this reminds of the guy who thought he could change the ram that was in the psp god it was so funny
-
No it is not possible, I am 100% sure of this

uhg, i didnt read much of that or did it make sence lol
but could u just make a program that did that?

LOL! yeah, that guy was a :censored: shame it can't be done tho.

It'd be great if you could manage that, Maybe then you could get a DOS emulator running well...

There already is a DOS emulator running partially well that is capable of running Windows 95/98 but I fail to see how this will help anyway what so ever

Well, You can replace NAND memory with memory stick. I saw this somewhere and it worked. But Memory stick instead of ram will be slow. You wont speed up PSP by doing it.
-
What do you mean Drajwer? This has never been done on the PSP and I'm sure it will never happen, or are you talking about a different platform?
-
this is TOTALLY POSSIBLE!!!! you could use the memstick as a ram buffer, when our pcs run out of ram,it uses the hdd as a ram buffer by storing the memory on the hdd and retrieving it when it needs it,but unfortunately the memorystick pro duo cant read nearly as fast as a hdd,THIS IS POSSIBLE!! but it would require serious programming knowledge and would wear out mem sticks extremely quickly
-
The reason this seams unpractical to me is that even if by some miracle it did work, the mem-stick would be horrendusly slow compared to the psp's ram. If your planning on using the mem stick as ram for homebrew then why not just use the memstick as it is.
-
why not just overclock to 333

Im sure it was PSP with rewired NAND to memory card (cant remember which one, proly SD). Author says memory card has similar pins to NAND interface. So it can easily recognize it as NAND. I bet PSP wouldnt recognize >32mb card as NAND. Imagine 2gig flash0 storage. Brick ? Format and reinstall on PC. Simply :)
Even if it recognizes >32mb cards, dual memory stick slot will be possible. Independed dual memory stix :)
I cant find pictures atm but Im sure it was on one of the "console hacking" sites.

Hmm... Pinouts for NAND memory?
