hello my psp slim umd reader i think is broken and im in need of help cuz i tryed reinstalling the fw and that didnt work and btw i got cfw so please help me here and if ther is a guide on how to replace it plz giv me the link thanks

Take a look at the slim disassembly tutorial in the tutorial psp section, take apart your psp up to your umd drive, take it out, and replace it with a new one. You can get them off of ebay and probably dx (dealextreme.com)

Also, check the umd swich on the mobo. if that isn't being pressed correctly then you umd drive won't engage.

wait wat do u mean da switch on da mobo (i know wat a mobo is) but wat switch ?

the mobo (or the umd drive itself) has a swich that when pressed down, activates the umd laser. if that is busted, it won't read the disk. open the psp's umd door (like your going to put a game in) and look to your right from the center of the drive. you will see a little white swich. thats what turns on the umd drive when i disk is inserted.
