Hello im new but im not totally noob related to psp. just need to ask why my screen wont light up?
i have not soldered anything and i tried those ribbons twice to get em in place.
screen is not broken cos my psp has been in parts (in plastic bags) on my table.
just painted sum psp parts while ago. but screen has been like almost month in plastic bag. alone.
and how can i get it fixed? i think you guys at AM know it :whoosh:
-
you might need a new screan
Or your backlight fuse went out
You could try to brige it
-
my screen is kinda surely ok since it has been working and when i opened psp i put the screen into minigrip plastic bag safety.
and that backlight fuse thing i dont know much about it..? tell me more?
edit - and i meant that my screen is TOTALLY black. i just read that llamma backlight fuse repair so now i know enough about it. but theres nothing in the screen.

palce the solder just like that
I would Url these but then they wont work
-
did you read my post edit? just said theres some problems with the whole screen, not only the backlight.
and in edit i said i read those llamma things, just right above.
but....if theres no fuses (there can be, i just think theres not) how i fix this? just placing the ribbons tightly? maybe cleaning em..?

dude there has to be a fuse, but It might not be the fix, and Puting in the ribbon to tight could break it
Try A new screan? It might not be fixable depends on condotion
-
well i wouldn't want to buy new screen cos i think this one is working well and for that fuse thing, im Finnish, so not very good in speaking english.
btw im just at the moment trying to get screen working.

lol, I posted that

Well i was wrong. today i spotted only the backlight fuse is blown out. tried with a screwdriver to short the "FD" piece's both ends and backlight worked (till i got the screwdriver out)
so i will buy a smaller soldering iron and repair that.
but does it matter that in my "FD" piece theres only "F"..? i think it wont matter. as long as screen works.
-
I think different motherboard version say different things on them.
-
Ok, i will fix it tomorrow cos i will buy a smaller soldering iron then. thanks for tips!
hopefully i wont screw the whole motherboard :boxed:
-
Yesss i fixed it with that big soldering iron, i was tired of waiting
-
did you bridge it? Like i said?
-
yes i bridged it like you said, but that "fd" thing fell off and lost but i just bridged those 2 spots where it was been and now my backlight works.
