i dont have much history on this system, attempting to fix for a friend, but all i can tell is that the system just doesnt turn on, period. no lights, no reaction, blank. what causes that? its a release xbox from what i can tell, could be wrong though, it has the white fronted cd drive instead of the silvered one.

Did you try getting a new AC adapter to see if it's the AC adapter thats broken?
-
yea i plugged my ac adapter that i normally use on MY 360 in and still nothing. :dntknw:
-
Not sure then. Maybe there's a power fuse or something blown. Wait and don't do anything until other members post, to see if anyone knows what's up.
-
have you asked ur friend if he did anything or something happened to it b4 it.. broke?
-
i have no clue if anything has been done to it, but from inspecting the casing, motherboard and parts, etc. etc. i cant see any type of sticky substances that would indicate a soda spill, maybe it couldve had water damage and fried a resistor or something if thats the case? there is also no sign of being dropped to hard, so i wouldnt count on that being it, and i dont see any signs of being massively over heated.
my prognosis is that it died of natural cause, thus old age, thus it could be anything, right?
-
Maybe a loose connection in the 360...That happenend to mine
-
possibly the power swiches board could be loose from the mother board somehow?

well, i dunno what good that will do, but ok, i will when i get a second, what am i taking a picture of on the 360??? anything in particular?
-
I would suggest taking a voltmeter to it. Go down to where the power cable connects to the MB and see if your getting anything
-
not a bad idea, just need my hands on a volt meter now, ill see if my neighbor has one
