im trying to buy a remote for my psp(fat) but wenever i go to ebay the psp remotes are mostly for the slim...are they compatible or do i have to buy the ones for the fat psp?

Remote? As the one that plugins into the Headphone/Serial port? If so, as stated below, Dealextreme has them.

yes the one that plugs in the headphone jack...im asking because there are 2 versions out...one meant for the phat psp and the newer version thats supposedly only works for the slim....i want to know if the newer version remote is compatible with the phat psp

nope theyre not the same. The slim one won't work with the fat and vise versa. You have to get the one for your model of psp.
