Title: Artathlon To Decide the Two Team Leaders

hey guys are you ready to find out what you need to do to become one of the team leaders for the art section. where it will be your duty to spur on the art team and think up challenges and competitions to not only get the artistic juices of the team flowing but to also atract new artists and make the site and section welcomeing to new people. it will be your job to think up ideas for projects, get the team to help other people out etc. now that you know what your role will be you shall no see what it is you need to do. (its changed a bit since my idea in the sotw post)

there will be a total of 4 tasks as we want dedication and people who can give the time to the site.

each task will be a different form with a different theme.

Task 1

A sig and avatar combo. to be branded to begin with but to be unbranded so that anyone can use it after all entrys have been recieved.

size

Theme = Peace/love & War or a loose aproximation to the theme i.e. good vs bad

Task 2

two wallpapers.to be branded to begin with but to be unbranded so that anyone can use it after all entrys have been recieved.

size = 1440x900 (sorry i got it wrong before lol but its right now)

Theme = two of the following movies - han:censored:, wanted, kungfu panda, wall-e, cars, iron-man, hulk or toy story

Task 3

a banner.to be branded to begin with but to be unbranded so that people can use it after all entrys have been recieved.

size
900x200

theme = an acidmods forum (look at the top for the curent one) banner. to include all the major consoles pictured, and one or both of out slogans - "live in your world mod in ours" or "Where Consoles Evolve"

can be animated must be under 200k

you may also submit an optional extra that is the same dimentions etc but can be under 1mb so that you may show off all your talents with photoshop

Possible Task 4

Will be a joint task where two people will pair up from the people who enter and work on a joint peice of art. so way 6 people enter those 6 will pair off into 3 groups of two. the theme and details of task 4 will be anounced after all entrys from the first 3 tasks are complete.

FAQ

-- branded as in your name on it? (english is not my native language ;))

branded means you put your forum name on it to show that you have done it and after the competition is finished you will remove that so or if its a sig change it to "acidmods member".

-- about the 4th task - what if there will be 7 people or 9? will there be 1 3 man team, or 1 will do it alone?

if there is not an even number of aplicants i will think of something.

-- can i change my entry later?

as long as the change is made prior to the closing date then you will definably be able to do that.

why isnt it jsut a week for entrys I jsut realised it wasnt lol

and why hasnt anyoen else entered, theres hardly any contenders =[ and like noone has done all 3 tasks, it makes me sad =[

yeh so far chase your the only guy to have submitted every entry. vox, 4dp and gameking are getting close to having all entrys but we really could do with some more entrys - i think you have about 4 days left

maybe if i lifted the size restriction on the banner some more people would enter as they would need to worry less about what they can do? what do you guys think?

yes, theres not much you can animate at that size to keep within the restrictions, well in my opinion anyway. For example compare the 3 banners I've posted.

i have an idea then - to make it a bit harder lol and to let me see whaat everyone is capable of.

you guys have an option. you have to do a banner that is under 200kb to show that you can work within limits. but i will allow you guys to have an optional second one to show off everything you can think of in PS in the banner which must be under 1mb that is the only restriction

well it would appear that chase has pulled out or disapeared and that leaves 3 people who fully entered which isnt really enougth for either task 4 (joint task) or to make a fair decision as to the two art team leaders so for now its to be left in limbo

wierd that chase would leave...

well gl to those 2 of the 3 who finished.... wierd though, that so many entered, and only 3 finished..... i know im too busy irl atm, but about all others?

those are the img tags you put in for any pics just add the width

I'd request an extension on the deadline for this thign jsut to give everyone a chance to get some entries in so that we can bring the art baclk to acidmods.

I mean Pax only got photoshop a couple of days vefore teh end, DVL9 wasnt active enough to see it and that Jade person hadn't jopined until it had ended.

If not ten thats fine too, Just to give more friendly competition. ^_^

i declare Chase and 4dP the winners of the artathlon and therefore the two new art team leaders who's duty it is to think up and complete art projects with the help of all art team members and anyone else who would like to partake, it is there duty to spur creativity within the art team and to push them to there full potential.
