Okay, I'm planning to do a mod using sickmods.net PulseVU fader. I want to have both fading and sound reactive capability along with the ability to switch between the two on the fly or turn it off completely via hold/wifi or ideally, holding the note button or something.
Can anyone help point me in the right direction of what to wire and where?
I'm using the PSP fader deluxe tutorial as reference but the PulseVU fader is slightly different and I don't wanna mess it up.
Fader can be found at www.sickmods.net (http://www.sickmods.net) in the shop section and the tutorial is in the tutorials section for psp. Here: https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php?topic=13472.0 (https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php?topic=13472.0)
Any information or pointers would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

um, well this sounds abit complicated, i dont think u will be able to have all the leds be able to switch betwenn fading and sound reactive, i think u will only be able to have a set of leds with the fader, and a set with the sound reactive, you may be able to do both but idk if you would be up to the job and be able to do that
-
Yeah, that's what I thought too when my friend asked me to do it.
The pulseVU is supposed to be able to allow both and just require a mode switch in between by using a switch. Hopefully someone can help me out with this or else I'll just go ahead and follow the fader tut and leave out the sound reactive LEDs

id speak to *Fufa or folklord36 if i were you becuase they've both used the chip before
-
How would I go about getting in touch with one of those two? I don't wanna jump onto Pm's right away since they probably get enough of those already
-
with those 2, sooner or later they'll see this post.
it might be possible but the wiring might be tough.
and welcome to the site
-
Thanks lol, I've seen a lot of the work that comes out of this site and it's really cool
Hopefully it is possible, it would make for one awesome psp lol
-
Ive worked with that chip what can I help you with ?
-
I was wondering if it would be possible to set it up as a LED fader and then switch modes to sound sensitive on the fly. Hopefuly by using L0rdnic0's electronic switch thingy.
I also have no idea how to wire it and it's a friend's psp so I don't wanna mess it up. I was going to use the LED fader deluxe tutorial as reference but the two chips aren't entirely the same. Any help would be absolutely great lol!
Pictures, video, full blown tutorial, it would all be nice but is it even possible to have both fader and sound sens. with this chip?
-
Yes it will do both.
Just follow the AcidMods tutorial on the new sound board.
Substitute the pulsvue chip
It wires the same and to the same points in the system.
The difference is the software and the modes the switch pressing turn on and off.

Sorry just to clarify... "new sound board?" Not sure what you mean, do you mean just follow the LED fader tutorial, just with the other chip?
Also, not entirely sure how I'd switch the modes. I'll try hooking it up to the same places in the psp but how would I activate the mode switching, do I need another switch or could I use an existing button? If so, how?
Sorry for the newbish questions, this is the first time I've done thistype of mod :boxed: And thanks for all your help!!
-
I forgot to add that the mod is happening on a psp-1000, the phat series. Hopefully that doesn't cause any complications?
I'm not sure which tutorial to use as reference, the new sound board (which I thought was for slims??) or the LED fader tutorial?
Can someone provide a detailed explanation of what to do?
Thanks
-
Yes and yes it is for a phat.
Just replace your chip in place of the sound mods chip
