Title: hold active led help
Post by: ra1n on July 28, 2008, 06:46:43 PM
its my first time trying to do a hold active led, so i think something is wrong somewhere
ok so i followed this picture here:
(https://acidmods.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi230.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fee18%2Fteh_0verl0rd%2Fholdleds.jpg&hash=0470b6207fd43f461ae5ab898010520d0098b459)
but my power board is different, instead of the 4 holes its 2. i still tried the hole but it didn't work so i tried the positive point as shown in this picture:
(https://acidmods.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg265.imageshack.us%2Fimg265%2F9026%2Fpowertoppj9.jpg&hash=8852361964ee8863312afb3322b2b0d5dd95d0c6)
still nothing. If i try only the the led mod without connecting the negative to the switch then it works.
I'm out of ideas here   :sadno:

Can you take a picture of your power board so we can see what you are talking about ?

If you show me I can take the image and mark on it how to wire it or at least
where I want you to test.

you probably didn't cut the trace which disables the hold function ;)
you will need to cut it otherwise the led won't turn on because it won't get any power.

? is the hold still a ground and the reason we tell people to remove the trace is to still have the functionality of the psp while using the switch for the leds

the psp turns on, everything works the hold function is gone, and i have no idea what you're talking about with the multimeter

edit: it turns on but won't turn off  :boxed:
edit2: it has something do with the hold, cause i disconnect the - part of the led and now it turns off

ya multimeters come in handy on more than one occasion. It dosent have to be a fancy one either. I got mine second or third hand at a swap meet for 10 bucks. Its pretty old but its digital and it gets the job done.
