Title: Trend tut for Arya :3
Post by: ccccpie on July 30, 2008, 07:53:11 PM
What you need:
[/u]
1. Pic of something you think looks nice, with a bright color, I used (https://acidmods.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi272.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fjj184%2FFitzzzzz%2FRedhair.jpg&hash=a6a482c181e498a676d7f212557912da8649e141)
2. Either the skills to extract the pic from the background yourself or someone like Indy who will do it for me ^.^ : (https://acidmods.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi272.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fjj184%2FFitzzzzz%2Fmehcasey.png&hash=f1d8be6ed7f2f36432efb7285e72f9cdaa4725c0)
3. A set of abstract brushes : http://paulw.deviantart.com/art/378-ABSTRACT-BRUSHES-CS-1-2-3-19395277 (http://paulw.deviantart.com/art/378-ABSTRACT-BRUSHES-CS-1-2-3-19395277)

How to do it:
[/u]

1. make a few layers, I ended up with about, 7, 4 if you count the ones that i rasterized as one ;D
2. What i did then was took my extracted pic (I made 3 copies of it, 2 I set as a smart object then filtered on various blurs, (Radial, and motion mostly))
3. Load your brushes then select a nice shape you like, and pic two general colors you want to be the "Theme". (https://acidmods.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi272.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fjj184%2FFitzzzzz%2FTut1.jpg&hash=758b95c2997bac9cdcbaf6922f7e727fe360d0e5)
4. Use the motion blur on that layer you just brushed on, you should get a nice background looking somewhat like this: (https://acidmods.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi272.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fjj184%2FFitzzzzz%2FTut2.jpg&hash=45eb52487c786c6563317a9e5cdc1be819f82f69)
5. After that, I went ahead with that last copy of the girl, and left it as normal, Didn't do anything else to it.
6. New layer, Were going to put a texture over it, I used : (https://acidmods.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi272.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fjj184%2FFitzzzzz%2Fking.jpg&hash=6e03b64f7296f4f2d60ccaab28c74c15fffdb753), Go ahead and save that to a texture file, pull out your pattern stamp, (on a new layer) brush it over the whole image : (https://acidmods.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi272.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fjj184%2FFitzzzzz%2Ftut3.jpg&hash=92b878d50382b9f77c7da7c585e89172144ffa2e), Then erase the pattern over the focal point.
7. Set it to overlay and adjust until you think it looks nice : (https://acidmods.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi272.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fjj184%2FFitzzzzz%2Ftut4.jpg&hash=c8533fded6125c900f119d2e6aba63f20770b0a1)
8. I went ahead and re-arranged the layers a bit and put the focal point on top, i thought it looked nice : (https://acidmods.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi272.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fjj184%2FFitzzzzz%2Ftut5.jpg&hash=89357a446bb465bbd7eb3e6f55f5851d0e2c150d)
9. Go ahead and make a new layer, Under the focal point of course, and get your brushes out and be creative, Make it look how you want it : (https://acidmods.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi272.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fjj184%2FFitzzzzz%2Ftut6.jpg&hash=7df325c79230a890bddd76360adc280fdf027152)
10. Finished product: (https://acidmods.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi272.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fjj184%2FFitzzzzz%2Ftrendnaughtywordthatacidmodscensors.png&hash=d608ff935909a2a3bdad95a3368f130310e47e9c)
