I may not be j.2sghetto but I know a little about paint. I would use enamel paint for plastic models. I would also use an airbrush because you will get smoother results than a brush. Make sure to sand off the original silver first and make sure its just a little rough. Then paint your first coat thin. Sand down each coat before you apply the next. Also wet sanding may help. Sand off the last coat and then apply a layer or two of clear to make sure that it is smooth.

i've done it before,
1st of all buy some enamel paint,i use krylon, black most of the time.

sand down the tirm till all the silver on the outside is gone, not too hard though

remove the wlan, open and power plastic bits for the switches.

get a dremel or a small pice of sandpaper, shave down there you remove the on,wlan and open plastic pieces from,as when you spray them, these area's will be raised, and if you don't shave them down before you spray them the switches won't work

spray with 2 very light coats of spray paint, just enough to cover all the silver

spray a thin coat of lacquer or clear coat on the trim

BANG coloured trim

check out some vinyl dye like you get from any auto parts store. may have to be special ordered. since it actually penetrates the plastic rather than just covering it, it won't fade, crack, chip, or peel. i have had this stuff on my 360 controllers for almost 2 years and still looks brand new.

check this stuff out: http://www.parasolinc.com/Aerosols.asp (http://www.parasolinc.com/Aerosols.asp)

they can also custom-match colors from a sample

dude you aint even got to sand it. thats just more work. get primer and get clear gloss and you're set. practice spray painting on scrap plastic so you can see your results. simple dude.
