Well like the title says I found this item called a bank in a thrift store for $15.
this bank was made over a production run lasting several years in the 1870's, the date on the top says AUG 15 1871 but that's the patented date. the production date on the bottom says FEB 2 1875.
here is a link I found on one selling for $100,800 - if any one can track down a picture of this one and some info it would be greatly apreciated as I don't want to get my hopes up if it isnt going to go for that much.

hey system ur going to have to fix that link its all messed up,i'll try and help you after it,if you could get a few pictures of your one,my uncle is an antiques auctioner and valuer and he may be able to value it for you,remember to get pictures of all hallmarks etc and dont try to hide any scratches etc. or it'll come back to haunt you

ryan those pics in his post are ones of what he has. but having looked at that page it does look promising system. but you would need to get the right auction house and right day and people etc at there. but it looks very promising
