I want to do 2 rapid fire mods for my friends using chips from the shop:
http://wiredinput.com/ShopUSA/product_info.php?products_id=81&osCsid=975ec79d9928b5a05170a17457d3790e
Does it matter what color wire I use?
Thanks, sorry for the newb question.
-
yep it has to be pink,,lol just kidding the wire color dont matter as long as you make sure you know what they are and have them wired to the right spots,,multiple colors help if your doing something with a lot of wires.but useing one color makes trouble shooting easy if all you wires are red you know your short is because the red wire, lol
-
like he said man wire dont matter its where the connected to
witch rapid fire you doing like like doing the 2 wires to led switch an trigger in it the easy one lol
-
Thanks, one more question. Is this all I will need for 2 rapid fire mods:

Besides the tools.

yeah you should be good to go! do you have a 15 watt soldering iron and some 62/36/2 (or 60/40) solder?
-
My dad has a soldering iron, but if it's not the right type, I'll just get a new one. I need one anyways. As for solder, where is the best place to buy that?
-
basically anywhere that sells solder. for what we are doing, i use .015 62/36/2 silver bearing solder, but you could use 60/40 (harder to work with) and/or rosin core instead of the silver bearing. but use what you want
-
I got a 15 Watt soldering iron and 60/40 rosin core for $18. Now I just need a hot glue gun and a torx t8.
-
The silver bearing (62-36-2) is real nice to work with.
-
I was gonna get that but the other was cheaper/had more. What makes it easier?
-
idk but i bet you have a hot glue gun lying around the house. i have literally eight of them. also make sure you get the right driver! its not just a torx, its a torx security. regular torx wont work, they dont have the little indent in the middle. also ive heard if you get a tiny flathead you can jam it in there and it works fine. im going to try that because i dont really want to buy another screwdriver
-
you can use a t8 driver all you got to do is break the thing in the middle and your good you can also use a small flat head
-
I asked my mom if she still had her but she doesn't. How much do they generally go for, and is there a specific kind I need?
-
any t8-9 ( <i think dont quote me...) security driver, no specific brand
-
haha, I meant the glue gun.
Michael
-
ooh haha well i actually use 2 glue guns. a high heat one, because the glue takes longer to dry (good if you need to position something, or your installing leds) and a low heat, that dries really quick but cloudy. choose whatever you think would suit your needs
-
I picked up a $5 one at wal-mart. WIN
-
there you go that will work fine. a glue gun is a glue gun
-
Cheap ass security bit:

All you need is a screwdriver that can take bits!
-
It says T10, don't I need T8 or T9?
-
Package in picture says t10, but the item title says t8. I'd either email them for clarification or just pass. They're easy to find elsewhere.
edit
After looking at the ad again, I'd pass. That's just for a short bit. If you use a bit like that with an extension, it won't fit in the controller hole. You want either a bit with a long narrow neck, or just the whole driver.

I'll get the one from wired input when I get the $$.
