Title: Sound Reactive Cold Cathode
Post by: blackburn on August 21, 2008, 08:31:30 PM
Hey, guys alot of you may know me (or may not  ) from the PSP section, well i just got a 360 that I modded and everything, but i was wondering, is there a way to hook up the cold cathode's inverter to the point on the motherboard for audio? (Hope this makes since)

probably gonna need an opamp

opamp? i asked ryan0 about it he said to use an lm386 and solder one of the audio outs and a ground point to the audio + and - of the lm386 i just dont know if i need to add 12v to the Voltage Supply on the chip or not, and if i would hook up the ground or the 12v side of the inverter to the Output of the lm386

i dont know if they are cathode lights, but they run on a 12v source so you could use them for a test

i do believe a scanner uses a cold cathode but it would be very delicate becuase i dont think that it is in a plexi/lexan case like ones you buy from the store are.

yeah, it is really delecate... im keeping it in its case that the scanner had it held in
now if only i can figure out what the wires on the board the drives it (inverter board?) are for
theyre color coded [black, brown, red, orange] idk if maybe this is a standard thing or anything like that
