Hey guys!!!I have just seen some pics of comparison between the Slim and the 3000 screen (http://www.qj.net/Comparison-photo-PSP-slim-screen-versus-PSP-3000-screen/pg/49/aid/123348 (http://www.qj.net/Comparison-photo-PSP-slim-screen-versus-PSP-3000-screen/pg/49/aid/123348)) and the 3000 one seem to be much much better!!!!!!The colors are richer and it has the new anti reflex technology and bla,bla,bla...My question is,would it be possible to put a 3000 screen into a slim? And to take advantage of the anti reflex, would it be necessary to replace the faceplate as well??

1. Link
2. How are we supposed to know until its out, and someone with both has tried?
-
Isnt it out yet??I have read somewhere that it was already out and that someone was already trying to find a wa to pandorize it... :confused:well, sorry,my mistake!
-
lol no, it's out october. And it might be the same situation where people tried to put a phat screen in a slim and vice versa but failed.
-
Thats a really nice comparison. The anti-reflection technology is great because now you will be able to play outside without squinting at your screen. One thing I don't like about that picture is; on the 3000 there is an ugly Sony label. Looks disgusting.
-
Wow i wasnt expecting that much of a difference in quality, yet i dont think it is quite enough to make me switch to it.
-
It is a big difference!
I think sony should make like a Custom PSP like 10$ more pick your own colors for your psp.
Some "noobs" dont want to void there warranty nor do some "non-noobs" so like 10$ more you can pick ring color, trim colors, button colors, trigger colors, case colors, ect ect. but it keeps the warranty intact.
They can probably make a big difference in money

I doubt that would ever happen. They would get so many custom orders it would be impossible to go through them all. And Sony likes to take the easy way so it won't be happening I don't think. :faint:

Very true. sony would rather have a few different coloured units than setup a custom psp order line or something along those lines. better that we do it and have fun making them. but it would be nice if there was a kit that had different coloured trims, metel rings and other case parts. but i'm sure someone will make them, seeing as most pople here would want a kit like that.

Do you think the connections will be the same as the slim ? as i might buy the screen on its own to upgrade the resolution of the slim while saving me some money.
-
I Really doubt it, the internals will probably have been overhauled like the slims was.
-
Do you think that the connections will be somehow modded if they are different then so it can be connected to the slim as im guessing they are going to be fairly similar.
-
wouldn't be easier just to make a new brighter backlight then just retrofitting a new screen? either that or add some more leds.
-
Maby but i dont want to risk opening up the screen as it will cost like $40 for a new one new. But i guess ill leave it till after the release and some of the awsome modders here come up with a solution.
-
maybe you can just take the backlight out of the new one and put it in the old one. it seems a lot simpler then trying to convert a screen.
-
The backlight of the new one will just make the current one washed out. You really do not understand how an LCD works....
-
guess I don't. I thought it would just make it brighter.

maaaan forget this freaking psp3000 bullcrap. i mean the 2000 was fine, most consoles need a good revision to boost sales and make the thing work better, but another revision? why doesnt sony just y'know... come out with a psp2 already?! we already know most 2000s coming out lately have a new mobo with encryption, so the psp3000 is most likely going to have it to, ruling out any fun we modders would like to do to it. the console is now what... 7 years old?
the screens nice, but that looks like all it has going for it now. its not smaller, its got a tight locked mobo, and propably the same wimpy speakers we're used to.
(btw, that anti-glare? most likely it's not the screen, its a polarization of the outside plastic. and the anti-scratch is the same tech on the zune and iphone/touch that you can take a razor to without repurcussions. all of this could be implemented into some case mods for the pspslim. the colors and contrast will still be the same though)
bring out the psp2. most slim modders will have no reason to get the 3000, but even if the psp2 mobo is 8times harder to crack than this new 2000, it would be worked on night and day because theres enough incentive to crack it.
-
everyone's being a retard over this. for god's sake, its just a better screen. and a built in mic. you cant even crack it to play .iso/.cso games. :nono:

Personal backups of your own UMD media isn't illegal, so those can be .iso/.cso. Anyway, I'm thinking to pick one up...just b/c mines is old...and fat...and the battery isn't going to be as efficient, lmao

Arent some homebrew games .iso/.cso

Talking about backups (Personal backups or illegal) and iso/cso/etc. is against forum rules. No questions asked.

Arent some homebrew games .iso/.cso
actually there's a way to make them that way

actually there's a way to make them that way
i've heard about this. it would make alot more sense to set them up as an iso/cso, better compatabilty. but how would you go about doing this?
-
I think it's a program on the pc that does it. I forgot what it's called
-
i cant wait to buy one...when i get it i plan to take it apart....who cares about a warrenty...just use zippo lighter fluid to loosen the label and security stickers and try not to bend the stickers just remove with a exacto blade...anyways i cant wait to mod it
