Not for along time, this time next year i reckon, but there may be no drop, just added features!
-
Probably...looks like I'm cashing out half a grand for one then, xD
-
well if you consider this a price drop.
the 40gb ps3 is gonna be upgraded to an 80 gb ps3 while the 80gb ps3 gets 120gb. basically the new 80gb ps3 will have the looks of the 40gb and cannot play ps2 games while the 120gb ps3 gets the 80gb ps3's look with chrome finish and CAN play ps2 games.
look at sony style.com they have it there somewhere. the 120gb is announced but not yet released.
i say, that a descent price drop. a new decent hdd is around 120.

Its going to 160Gb Actually.

apparently all ps3 model will be like the 40gb. two usb ports, and cant play ps2 games..........X/
hopefully sony wonbt get too cheap on the 160gb model by giving it a crappy silver trim like the 40gb instead of the chrome sexy trim.
-
Yeah, hopefully! :beg: :beg: :beg:

Uhh, in america, the 160Gb will still have 4 USB Ports, MC Reader, like the current 80Gb, but in the Uk, the just released 80Gb is like a 40Gb.

lol i dont think they will put in 'chrome sexy trim', since they discontinued the 60GB (my model :P) they have no reason to keep the chrome trim in production, therefore its easier and cheaper for Sony just to keep the singular trim style. Most likely the brushed aluminium look trim is here to stay.
imo the 60GB is still the best PS3 out there, regardless if the HDD is smaller, just upgrade it :D
