Well i want to light the xbox guide button up blue in my controller. So far i know i need 4 blue leds, and a 22 ohm resistor. I read this straight off llamas tut, what i dont understand is how can i light up the leds with a plug and play pack that only supplies 2.4v whenthe leds require 3.3v? Thanks

only red works unfortunally, i tryed using blue white green UV they dont light up bright
only red does :( sad sad sad i just do it to the terminalz and remove the battery when am done.(they stay on after the remote is turned off)

CRASHMAN USE A SWITCHED +V SOURCE, AND THEY WILL GO OFF WITH THE CONTROLLER.

hmm only with red? i just did one wth a blue guide button and a 22ohm resistor in the positive with 4 leds in parallel and it works fine :P

Your controller is wired, mines wireless which only puts out 2.4v not 3.3 which is needed for the supply voltage of the blue leds.
oh ya, i dont want mine that bright.. would this work? I put the 4 blue leds in there with the 22 ohm resister with them wired in parallel just like yours... now what im asking is obviously they wont have the full supply voltage needed to light up, but will they still light up just be dim? And if i want to show them off i could plug my play and charge kit in?? It sounds like it would work... but im not too good with electronics.

The leds have a volt range in which they'll work. If you're saying the leds are 3.3v, then that's probally the max voltage they'll work at without damaging them. Which leds are you using; 3mm or 5mm and where did you get them?

I havent bought them yet. But i plan to use good old unique-leds.com since im running out of 0603s and i want some different colors :D... im going to use These (http://unique-leds.com/index.php?target=products&product_id=1934) because i dont want it to be super bright. What im asking is, these require 2.8v Minimum, but what does minimum mean? Does that mean that if i dont have 2.8v running to it that it wont light up, or that it will be dim? Because if it will just be dim that will be cool.

I got blue in mine to, I think 2 blue leds to be exact, I think they might even be smd... cant rember

Is yours wireless and are the leds supply voltage greater than what your controller supplies? (2.4-2.6v)

for wireless i used 4 red 3mm 20ma red leds with a 39ohm 1/2 watt resistor. why not just use 2 leds with a lower resistor? i wanted the light to spread. the more leds the better coverage you get :D

I dont understand why the leds would even light up if there isnt enough voltage going to them. From the battery pack (wireless controller) you get 2.4-2.6v and the leds need like 2.8-3v minimum

Its because the red leds only require 1.8 to 2.2v, which CAN be supplied by a wireless controller. Blue leds require more, thus me not being able to do it. :(
