Title: problemo with 5V spot
Post by: DubbleDutch on August 31, 2008, 12:16:01 PM: i've got some problems with the 5v spot

i decided to use the 5v spot for a standard triggermod

where the leds turn on with the wifi switch
now the problem is, as soon as the psp is on and i put the switch on, the leds turn on bright, and immediately they fade :S
i've got the correct resistor between them

but when the psp is off they just shine normal :S

can anyone show me another spot to solder to? or explain how this comes.

OK silly question time, how many led's are you using? What fwd voltage do they operate in and what value resistor are you using?

Anyway this might help, I wipped it up for you. Guys correct me if I'm wrong but I think that should do the trick. Note that this has been built using a source voltage of 5.1 since the slims 5volt spot has been known to vary. Also the Resistor used in the parrallel drawing should be more like 45 Ohm but 47 Ohm is more common. :tup:

Post by: l0rdnic0 on September 03, 2008, 04:00:00 PM: I have done that mod before and not had any problem, I figured I would make just a suggestion as I assumed that you were using the 10 Ohm. So That resistor may be to small for Red Leds using fwd 2.4 and maybe that's why yours leds are to bright and burning out. Good luck.
