You have to open it up to the LCD Cage and take out 2 screws or you break your door and u cant put a new one on.

Well you don't actually have to take the umd door off to put in a jewl. It just would be EXTREMELY hard to do it without taking it off.

Yea and your most  likely to damage something on ur psp that way you can slip with the blade things happen. So you are better of taking ur psp apart and either buy UMD door with a preinstall jewel or making your own jewel and installing it.

cutting the door and putting the jewel will void your warranty despite the fact that you didn't open the psp.

yup pretty much any mod you see here on this site has to be done by opening the psp. At least most of them.

*correction to you all!* my friend martin/martinstatic dropped his psp of a wall and the umd door came out without breaking and without ever disassembling the psp so HA!!!!if u can wiggle it about hard enough it's bound to come out sometime,so yes you CAN replace umd door without removing your warranty!!!

That means its been opened and its missing the UMD Door screws other wise it would have broken. It wouldn't have worked.

There aint no umd door screws lol,it wasn't previously opened, and everything still worked fine after. He just pushed the umd door back in and it stayed, but at will he could take it off,I was soooo jealous cos I had to disassemble my psp every time, but I didnt want to drop my psp lol

there is one, when you remove the lcd, theres a black screw near the bottom right that isn't for taking off the lcd cage, but for the umd door. ive just taken that screw off so i dont have to disassemble my psp to take off the umd door.
