what would be the best value potentiometer for a volume knob? 10k?

im putting a headphone jack on the vga mod and i want to be able to control the volume so itd probly be like 5 volts is 10k good for that?

also, would i need a linear taper, audio taper, or audio control potentiometer? id think audio control but idk

im talking headphones and they dont have volume control, that is, till i get the turtle beach :P

10k ohm wheel potentiometer

but i need help wiring it and i cant find a single pinout... does anyone know how to wire a potentiometer with 5 posts to a left and right audio?

yeah i bought that same pot, for my rapid fire controller, i cant figure out how to wire it either  :help:

uhh its bothering me i just need a pinout! ive tried all kinds of combination's of wiring and i cant find it
