This topic has a thread like 20 pages long, and the answer was never clearly summarized in the first page. Due to that, I will give you the short answer:

This trick only works on Matrix older controllers, and only if the batteries are worn down (or you use rechargables, but not the plug and play). It works because the Matrix uses PWM signals to drive the LEDs, and they are sinked. The CG uses just a DC voltage to drive the LEDs and they are sourced (outside the trigger voltage range).

Even if you do have the right controller and use underpowered batteries, this mod  :censored: in comparison to any other rapidfire solution for many reasons: You cannot control the speed so it pretty much only works for COD and sloppy at that;

Stick with a chip. It will last longer.

Kicks, are you actually saying that the player indicator 'no chip' method works on the new CG wireless? Your reply makes it sound like you agree with blackburn.....

No, old one. Wait. CG=old or new?

CG is the new one. Blackburn is saying that he got this to work on the new ones. I just spent an hour combing through 13 pages of dribble to confirm what my oscilloscope says: the CG LED does not use a PWM signal, and hance no rapidfire by wiring to the player LED on the CG.

Oh. If CG is new then no it won't work. He's lying. I thought CG was the old one :taunt: Now I remember, old is matrix. I could care less about names. I jsut know them as old/new.
