Ok, this is my first post *woohoo* but ive been following tutorials on this site for a while, and am looking to install some LEDS into my PSP, but im thinking about "Stereo" leds for a cool effect!
Heres my basic schematic (Drawn in paint so it kinda sucks but shouldn't be to difficult) and would really like some Q's answered about it before i do it.
(https://acidmods.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi310.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fkk412%2FEviltim_in_16bit%2Fschematic.jpg&hash=3d98ab08405e8e3d4ec507d76b0de75a80210179)
Ok, basicaly,
1) is this safe?
2) is the connection to the SPST switch going to cause a short or anything? (I only have SPST switches btw, I know an DPST switch wuld have been Ideal)
3) whats the best resistor to use (Im using your bog standard LEDs btw)?
4) will this cause any interferance or general problems with the speakers?
5) wheres the best grounding point? (a picture would be preferred)
Any help with this is MUCHLY appreciated! :beg:

i you do that, the speakers will short out with the psp. you have to connect the negative of the leds to the negative of the speakers. this means you need two switches to turn them off unless you use 2 LM386 ics. then you just put a switch that cuts off the power supply to both at the same time. this will also give you a better blink.

you cant ground your direct connect sound reactive leds just anywhere they have to be grounded to the other speaker with an on off switch idk what kinda switch you are talking about but if it has an on and off position you are fine hmm now that I think about it you may need two switches Im not sure but if you just add two lm386 it would simplify things alot

Yes you would need a double pole switch to keep the two sides isolated from each other

Ah thats cool, cheers.
Yeah unfortunatly my local electronics store only had subminiature "Single Pole / Single Throw", the only Double Pole switches they had were a little too big,
I may try this without the switch in, with both circuits returning to there own speakers, and include a Double pole when I can get my hands on one?
That sound OK guys?

btw you won't need resistors
