Title: [TUTORIAL] Repair sound
Post by: Arioch_76 on October 02, 2008, 09:33:08 AM
Hi all, This is a mini tutorial to repair sound if even after change speakers , you don't have sound
The tutorial was done on a MB TA-081, you had to find alternative items for your MB version .

So take your motherboard and locate the weld shown in the photo:

Then solder two cable between the points (I had no sound from the right side, so I made the change to the right speaker , if it's the left speaker does not work anymore, made this manipulation with the other point)

Voila it's over

PS : sorry for my poor english , if an administrator or moderator can edit for more comprehension , thanks to him.
And sorry if I post in a bad section.

Hi , what's your MB ? , cause I do this on two TA-081 and it's work ....

That is a very very good find - your work really impresses me!

That is because it will be different for different motherboard versions, since on some they changed the routing, and circuit slightly through the capacitors into the bga ic.

Thanks a lot Alien_X

So i havent been on here awhile, but finally got back on. Been wondering about this for some time since my right speaker hasnt been working, im assuming i did something when i was modding it. But from what i read seems like this will only work for the slim psp and not for the phat psp. Is this true, if not how could i do this for the phat psp? Thanks in advance. By the way my right speaker it the one not working from what i beleive, i wil have to check it out though. Thanks if anyone can help.

Hi , this "tuto" is for phat PSP , for the slim there's a fuse to change for the sound :

Hi , sometimes I must remove the little black square component for the sound comeback , it's him which is broken , and perhaps he's just desoldering in somes case ......

Hey Arioch_76,

I had a PSP, Ta-079, which broke through time, I mean I kept this thing together with glue, tape, rubber bands, and paper clips, not legitimately but still, My psp was in rough shape, to a point of disrepair, I bought another PSP, which was a TA-081 motherboard, Both speakers were working perfectly, when I took it apart, and put it in my clear case, without ever removing any components such as speakers and AC Adapter, I turned it on and tested a song, the right speaker wasn't working.... Grrr.... Any idea whats going on?
Message me back, thanks:
