Nintendo have announced that a new DS is on the horizon. The updated console will be called the Nintendo DSi. (Pictures Below) There are some interesting features they have decided to add, such as: a SD card slot, 0.3 megapixel camera, internal storage space, music player, bigger LCD screens, built in web browser, and the usage of Mii's. This new console is actually thinner and lighter than the DS Lite, however, there is no longer a GBA slot. The DSi will go on sale in Japan on November 1st for $179.99, and in other markets sometime next year.

Oh, wait. NEXT YEAR for other countries? Good, something I can ask for as a birthday present instead of buying it myself. Lol.
I wish they'd give it a better camera, but I mean, it's got a camera! And music player and internet!!
That's awesome. I'm definitely getting it next year. Maybe someone will be able to mod it with a better camera eventually if you could find out the company that makes it, find a better equal camera from that company, etc.. That would be cool.

Ya that would be cool. But most that we wanted we're getting.
Net, Music, AND games on the DS, with a camera. Thats pretty sweeeeeeet.

dude this is so sick, i may trade in my onyx dsl for the dsi. although ill miss playing my doom gba cart. its worth it. and yinz know that the sd card slot is going to be used for exploits and such. i.e. hacks.

i cant wait to see what all attachments its going to have, i guess it has blue tooth or something, i saw pictures of it interacting with a wiimote and there is a remote control in the video!

Wow, now the DS has the functionality of a PSP.... 4 years behind the ball on that one, Ninty.
I have a camera, and a PSP, and a DSL....I don't need this.
Besides, 0.3 megapixels? Come on.

I looked online today and I found out that it has more ram built in so people can still use the opera browser. Now all it needs is the rumble built in and we are golden.

i read on nintendo that the internal cam is 0.3 MP, and the external is 3 MP. also, 179 bucks for a handheld nintendo? :faint: i remember the good ol days, when i got my gameboy color for 99.99, and GBA Sp for 90. id rather get a PSP or even an 2 RROD 360's with that money. and they took some ports off, so peripheral fans, sorry. no GH on DSi :nono:
