Title: Trigger LED SMD help.
Post by: billy80808 on October 16, 2008, 11:23:33 PM
ive installed SMD's into the triggers and tested them out. they worked well but when i turned it off, installed the LCD Cage, LCD, and cover, the SMDs didnt work.  so i took the psp apart again and looked.  and the problem was:

when the wires are slightly crushed between the LCD Cage and circuit board, they disconnect (disconnects power, not solder)

and when the wire sometimes moves, it disconnects.

how can i fix this and is it the soldering?

yeah, cuz i didnt want the wire to melt. should i cut the extra wire? but leave like, a real tiny amount of wire to solder too?

where you have soldered to wires together, have you wrapped them in electrical insulation tape or heat shrink wrap. If you havent then it cause problems as the exposed wire and solder short against the metal of the lcd cage.
