Title: lm386 voltage output
Post by: bustinthejustin on December 07, 2008, 08:39:56 AM
Hey how much voltage comes out of an lm386 when it's all wired up? What are the 2 resistors (191k ohm and 30k ohm) used for? To prevent too much voltage running through the lm386? Where's the voltage supply coming off of anyway, 5v point or the speakers? Sorry I'm such a noob, and if there's any additional info you think I could use, then it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Supply comes from 5v,

Point of speakers provides lower than 5v,

Therefore resistors needed to prevent burning led, Don't go below / above 191k 30k

Okay thanks. So how much voltage comes out of the led output? That was my main question.

Ill check for you in a second :D

Edit-
I get 3.3V in neutral state and i get 3.4V with music on at full blast. (Highest voltage written its 2.7V on average)

what do you mean voltage written? But thanks for those values. I would assume it's similar for the soundboard mike sells. I'm gonne need some resistors for red LEDs, won't I...

This is mikes board..

Ya by highest written the highest my multimeter with music was 3.4 volts. It was about 2.7-2.8 on average though.

i have these and have no need for extra resistors

Thanks guys. Ghetto, thanks for the info. I need some more leds anyway and I was wondering which ebay seller I should get them from.
