Dont talk in capitals ¬_¬
What you said makes no sense.
Now the 360 is on a screen saying play 360 games. Wha?
-
sorry (caps) and the little white screen comes up and says to play game please insert into xbox 360 or some crap like that and i just put in a new diskdrive got it in today 1st i changed out the laser thinking it was that. no go so i bought a dvd drive brand new so i installed it
-
Sounds like you bought a new dvd drive and installed it? Sounds like you didnt pay any attention to extacting the key from the original drive. The original drive is keyed with the mother board, and without the original key the 360 will not play games. The DVD player will still work as you are seeing. If you have original drive all is not lost, try swapping the DVD drive electronixs from the original to the new drive and you should be fine(google it, I think Llamma has tut for it). Or have someone extract old key and put on new drive, this requires special tools and good knowledge of flashing drives.
I am assuming you used same drive as the original too because swapping boards wont work unless model is the same.
-
so me ordering the same dvd drive asthe old one isnt good enough¿¿ and i hope its fixable and can u send me a link please
-
(PspKicks316) do u know any web sites that has tuts or anything like that cause i dont really want to pay for anymore and thanks for your help
-
what happened is, he didnt flash the firmware on the DVD drive with the key from his old DVD drive, so the drive is sending back the wrong key to the motherboard, and the motherboard is rejecting to boot the 360 game.....
here is something u might want to look at: http://www.biline.ca/360_mod.htm (http://www.biline.ca/360_mod.htm)

yeah as PsPKicks siad, good luck, you will need it, its one of the hardest flashing jobs i have ever done..... (I did an Hitachi Drive 079, Sammys are a bit easier)
-
well i did one of the ideas on here and just changed out the old dvd board to the new dvd drive and it worked thank u guys and now i have another ? how do i fix error 74 by the way this is for another xbox
-
Glad you got it fixed!
As for error 74, I'm not sure (Hey look it rhymed!).
gameroms knows how to fix it I think. Maybe he'll post here. Chives might know too. So just wait for one of them to post (They know a lot more about 360 lol)
-
i reflow the decoder chip, and do xclamp replacement for e74, cause e74 happens not long before the rrod.
-
PspKicks316 you sound like dr seuss lol and thanks for the help again and gameroms can i fix it like i would red ring?
-
Yup, it is often a precursor to the dreaded RROD. I believe the decoder chip gameroms refers to is the scalar chip on ANA or Hana chip? I cant remember since RROD is such a downhill battle, I stopped trying to fix em. Either way, the GPU is also guilty in this situation, so reflow the ana chip and the lines between the ana and the gpu with a heatgun and propper x-clamp procedure in order to squeeze some life out of the box.
But just to give you fair warning if this is for a friend or client, dont warranty your work. RROD will return, and you should be upfront about it in order to maintain you reputation.
