Title: PulseVU 2X on PC
Post by: alman101 on December 09, 2008, 01:37:08 PM
I've just ordered a PulseVU 2X chip off SICKMODS, and I am wondering what are the hard parts to this mod?

There's nothing hard to it.

It's really basic, just wire the leds to the PVU2X and the power/ground to it.

My suggestion is use a battery pack instead of the PSU or motherboard for power (Keep it nice and safe, know what I mean?).

Sickmods has install diagrams for the leds and power/ground so just follow that but instead of wire to a wii or something, just wire to a general point.
Good luck!

I'd go for an external USB hub and wire off that. The Molex connectors are very thick and that results in a messy job and if you stuff up you don't wreak a molex connector

you could buy a 4 pin molex connector to a 3 fan connector and just clip the fan adaptor off, hell you could even use a sata power adaptor if you wanted

I want to get one and install it on my PC too. MY sound reactive cathodes don't work well.
