Title: red leds in dome Brighter..

i bought 2 Rectangular High-Brightness Red LED Lamp from radioshack part number 276-008. they look good but i want them to be blinding bright. anyone know what i can do to make them brighter?? i put a 97 ohm resistor on it. thats what some one told me to do. any ideas??

try putting a weaker resistior on it?

Ya reduce your resistor size and it will get brighter.  There is a limit tho, before it will burn out. Consult the spec sheet on the diode, and make sure not to exceed your maximum current. If need be put a meter in line and measure current, most LEDs spec a max of 30mA.

Also try googling for a LED resistor calculator to see what your options are.  More current (mA) = more light

thank you both. i have found it. i put a 20 ohm on it and it looks great. at first it had a 47 not a 97. put still looks better. thanks

if you like it to look Brighter you can use this : you have to clean the dome and take out the center + and its a perfect replacment

10mm led still looks best in the dome, wish radioshack had more colors of it.

when i used multiple leds i had bright spots and dim spots, but the 10mm looks great.
