Got the smooth black XCM replacement controller shell for christmas. The one with rb/lb/a/b/x/y/start/select/guide leds in it.
Soldered it in, put everything together correctly (duh), and when I turn the leds on, only the A and B leds light up. Sometimes when I hit the guide button, they all light up for a second though, but the guide, start, and select are very dim and the others are bright.
Any ideas on why it doesn't work right, or how to fix it?
-
have you checked for shorts in the wiring
-
Yeah, it's just 3 wires. Pos, neg, and some other one. I'm clueless with this one. =[
-
IF you like send it to me and i fix for you for Free Just pay shipping
-
Too much of a hassle. I'll eventually get it done. If not, oh well. The case fits together badly anyway, it's just a spare controller so no biggy.
-
could you need to replace the smd's. can i have pics b/c i have a clear version of this.

Uhm what?
By the way Mike...if you know how to fix it then why not tell me? I'm more than capable of doing it myself.

How about reading my post first.
All of the leds work fine and I know that because they light up for a slip second when I do certain things. Readdd.
And it's BRAND NEW. They wouldn't be burnt out anyway.
-
Then you installed it wrong.
-
No alien. Don't tell me I did something wrong.
There's THREE :censored:ING WIRES. I followed the diagram and everything WORKS. Damnit, read. Everything works except only TWO leds light up correctly, the others aren't working correctly.
-
there are directions for installing it on the xcm site, you have to use certain points on each diff controler type.
-
Well if you didn't do something wrong, then who did?
-
Kicks, in mikes defense he probably doesn't know whats wrong, however if it was in his hands he could fix it. 100% without a doubt, that is what he does everyday is stuff like this.
sounds like the XCMs connections in the controller to those 2 leds are flakey. I am unfamiliar with this product so I don't know what to tell you to look for except trace all the lines and wiggle wires until you can isolate the problem. if need be replace the lines with ur own and make the darn thing work one way or another. :winker:

Will you shut up already? I don't need or want your stupid comments.Kicks, in mikes defense he probably doesn't know whats wrong, however if it was in his hands he could fix it. 100% without a doubt, that is what he does everyday is stuff like this.

Alright. And I think you've got it backwards. There's 2 leds (A and B) that light up fine when I have the leds on. The other ones flicker on for a sec when I do certain things, like taking out the battery pack for example. I'll mess with it later on and try to get it working..
-
how about some pics, hard to suggest anything if we cant see it.
i'm outta town for atleast a week, but ill check on my mobile when i can.
-
No camera, so it'll be cell phone pics. I just rechecked my controller and it's an old wireless, they only have instructions for the new wireless. If I can't poke around and get it done myself, I'll post pics and stuff.
-
this one is for matrix, follow it.
http://www.xcm.cc/wireless_pad_shell_installation_guide.htm (http://www.xcm.cc/wireless_pad_shell_installation_guide.htm)
if you followed the cg guide you got the white and black wires crossed.
-
Yeah I saw that and was gonna do that. Oh well. I'll do it later. I don't see how it can change anything, since they work but only...partially.
-
Alright, solved. I had low batteries...
-
Happens to all of us
-
I noticed when switching battery packs(instead of just taking batteries out, put them in, then take them out again), that the LEDs worked fine (some still dull) so I'm guessing when I have a 100% full battery pack, I'll be fine. Lol
