Meh I'm going to be a computer technician or something. Work in a computer store, build/fix/sell computers, that kind of stuff.
Key word going to be. Not hoping, but going to be.
So long as I get off my ass and keep my grades up, which doesn't look to hot at this point.

Thats why I hope lol. I can't study...not enough will power. I know its going to bite me in the ass later on in life.

Becoming a Pilot is a demanding task to say the least
-
Tell me about it. The theory is gouging out my eyes. But its all worth it for the practical. I just got my ASIC today (Aviation Security Identification Card) looks so awesome. Now I have to go for a class 1 medical which is going to be FUN. My friend got needles stuck into his eyeballs to measure the density of it.... :help:. So far I'm up to advanced stalling, almost up to solo. Btw I fly a Cessna 152 and the best part is the school is paying for like the first 18 lessons.
-
Thats pretty sweet, guess its different down under compared to britain.
Main aim to be a commercial pilot?
Thats where the moneys at :winker:
-
im GOING to design the engine in the car that brings indy to the court. already going to vocational school for engineering.
-
Yeah eventually. Once you get your commercial pilots license I can only fly a Cessna 152, 172 and a Mooney. If I want to fly other planes I have to get endorsements for them and to fly BIG planes I have to have a minimum of 1500 hours of flight. Then you can get your air transport license and apply for a cadet ship, with a airline company. I just need to improve my grades for it all to happen
EDIT:
@SN!P3R
What do you mean bring indy to the court ? (sorry I really noob at cars)
-
for fear of sounding egotistical I think he was referring to me as I am Indy =]
He wants to design an engine for a car that I will drive to court once i become a succesful Lawyer.
-
I want to be a computer techy too.
That, or a software engie.
be fun :D
-
LOL this is what happens on a modding site... most people wanna do something related to electronics/computers O_O
I wanna be electronics engineer/whatever the word for that is. I'm not bad at school and right now I don't even try hard and I get decent marks. In high school I'll actually try Oh well I have 4 more years of high school plus half a year of gr. 8. By the time I'm done high school I'll probably have a different job in mind.
-
Yeah, my problem is that my ICT course makes it so that there is NO test, which is alright in one aspect, but it means you have to be alot more focused than I am now. My parents are going to try to get me to go to a grammer school so that I won't get distracted. Anyway, back on topic, I'm going collage, university and start up an IT troubleshooting buisness. Just need to get Microsoft Certified.

and the hot hostesses
i want to not have any fixed job but earn money from various projects and from utilising skills that i should have in a few years time so basically money from the site and money from web development and web design and any other projects that i can think up or get myself into. all i know is i want money and im going to do what it take to get that and try to do it with as little effort as possible as i want to be able to enjoy my life as well not just dedicate it to work. all work and no play equals suicidal CEOs
-
I want to be a firetruck
-
OMG I LOL'd so hard.
-
OMG I LOL'd so hard.
hehee, it made me laugh too
Im like the boy that was on tv looking like a zombie
"I LIEK TURTLES"
But on a more serious note, in the future, web devolper, professional graphic designer, pr0n star (just kidding about that one), or IT Technician
But mostly id like to professional graphic designer
-
may sound really silly but its a serious goal and ive had it since i was in 5th grade, but i aspire to become the president of the U.S. and with Bush lowering the standard its going to be easier. my fallback is doing lighting effects, con artist, get my PHD so i can have a nifty lil title to go before my name. and probably go into elecrtonic freelancing
-
damn, im the only one going into mechanical XD
-
I am going to uni in sep 09 to study automotive engineer. Its a 5 year degree with a year at a work placement and after the degree i am gonna get a job in formula 1.
-
1.i wanna be a rockstar
2.work at the army
3.rule the world
-
Marine Biologist/ Oceanographer
It all spawned when I took an unbelievable interest in cyanobacteria. You should check out the Endosymbiotic Theory of Cell Evolution, it's actually really interesting.
-
Errm, sounds like it is. J/k. Sounds like something that will get you a LOT of money.
-
well Jumbo i've taken your dream from you, I already am a Crew Member of McDonald's. :P
Big Mac anyone? i can make 4 in about 2 minutes xD
Though i aspire to become some sort of hardware engineer, technician or games programmer. I'm more interested in hardware than i am software, which could help if i decide to open a business to fit RAM into idiots' computers for £20 a pop xD. Or a PC builder, that'd be niiiice. ProperBritish's Custom Rigs. Not completely sure but i know computers are where it's at.
-
Errm, sounds like it is. J/k. Sounds like something that will get you a LOT of money.
Actually it's a pretty poorly paid job on the whole. I despise people who choose a job/career path because they want lots of money. I properly despise them, I'm doing it because I take an interest.
For now I work at Currys
-
I seriously plan to become an Electronics Engineer.
95% mathematics...Awesome

Yeah, professional graphic designing doesnt have much money to it, very hard, but its fun, and interesting
Currys? What a coincedence? Im most likely working there in may (Work experience)
-

I did my work experience with an Environmental Health department at the local council.
And yeah, a friend of mine went into graphics but because of it's relative ease and so many people are going into it he found it very hard to get work. He's doing okay now though, he tacked himself onto a printers so he gets a lot of work from them now.
-
For now I work at Currys
Curry's = the best. End of.

Curry's = the best. End of.
Damn straight!
-
I want to go there or PC World for my work experience. You don't earn a wage on work experience do you?
-
sometimes you get paid but only in rare cases, I didnt -_- But i got a job at the end of the 3 months
-
Why is everyone so money obsessed?
-
cos money is what makes the world turn
and buys you shiny things! ;D
-
pharmacist
-
Yeah cause in case you hadn't noticed, we're a modding community... that likes ripping apart shiny toys..... occasioanlly unsuccessfully.... resulting in new shiny toys..... that aren't cheap.
-
lol
Nice way to put it
-
Granted, but it seems that lots of people see money as the primary factor in choosing a career.
Plus, probably quite a lot of the people on here are funded by their parents.
-
I'm currently studying to be a MicroElectronic Engineer, a job that will allow me to eventually own my own business (and not a small business at that). I'm minoring in Business as well lol.
Also, to the person saying commercial pilots get paid a lot, thats a joke right? Pilots are laid off more than almost any other type of job and don't allow you to really settle down with a family. The best pilots are the private ones that make a great living working 2-3 days a week.
Granted, but it seems that lots of people see money as the primary factor in choosing a career.

My career choice will allow me to make a lot of money, yes, but it's something I aspired to be for a while now, and I can retire before I hit 50 years old which is always nice. And I wish I was funded by my parents, but alas they aren't millionaires so I'm funding my college on my own (got an amazing scholarship however)
-
@Reaper Loads of my friends from Sixth Form are having there uni fees paid for by their parents, one guy who I won't name also got a £22,000 car bought for him as well. But don't worry, he has no friends and hasn't had a girlfriend in his life.
I never got that treatment but I was bright enough to get into a school full of rich kids who obtained all their money ultimately from their parents. THey even got paid money for good grades!! :fear:
-
My dad has an alright amount of money, but threy don't want me to end up a spoilt brat. I get £5 a week, £200 for christmas and the same amount for birthday. That is all I get. And some times I get the odd bits and bobs. Money is important to me in a job, but I want to have a job that I enjoy. Hence why I want to own a troubleshooter, and starting it up won't be as difficult because my dad runs a pretty big buisness (got a contract going through that means he will ship ALL 2012 olympics merchandise will be shipped from the docks to the shops by his company). I'm also set up for renting a flat, due to £10,000 (+ intrest) will get when I'm 18.
-
i'm going to USAFA (United States Air Force Academy) in Colorado next September. I want to fly jets, and i want to get in weapon design/tech.
-
My aim is to open my own firm,
International cases
Lawyer in the Air :D
I plan to change my name to Phoenix Wright and join your Lawyer Firm.
-

My sentiments exactly. Do I become a structural engineer and makes lots of money but not really enjoy my job or do and research something I enjoy everyday for less? If I can resolve a few environmental and fishing issues whilst doing it, that would be nice.
-
hmm havent been on here for awhile and this seemed interesting even though I pretty much wanna do the same things half the people on here want to do...
Well I quit school to0 get my ged and will just go to a technical college for 2 years then do my other 2 years at another college which im not 100% sure which either will be yet but will start in august.
I am going to major in Computer science which most of you know is pretty much programming and stuff, which I can do a fair amount of now. I will also do some extra classes in hardware. Once I get out and get a job I will stay there saving money for around 5 years or so getting established and all then open up a store in fixing computers, building customs, maybe modding consoles and such for people too in the store. Then on the side some programming projects and such maybe try to make a couple small indie games on the side.
Also I just wanted to point out everyone keeps saying " once they get there grades in line and such", but really unless you are doing something really hard such as Scientist,Doctor, Lawyer, ect. then you dont have to be an all A student. For computer programming and computer hardware you dont have to have very good grades as long as your passing fairly well. I know more than 5 people ,personally not on the internet, that have quit school and do both those things. My one friend quit school at 16. never got his ged. Taught hiself C++ and makes more then 80,000 us dollars a year at a software development company and has only been working there about 5 years. So that just goes to show you dont have to do amazing at school for alot of things, and most colleges dont require you to have amazing grades either. Just thought I'd put my two sense in that.
Also Money while shouldn't be the most important choice in you career, but should still be in the top 3 because how much money you make will depend on how much stuff you can do, buy, how you can live basicaly. So I would personaly put any job making less than 40,000 a year for me out of the question. Except for the military.

Me I want TO become a Lotto Winner.. So far I won 1000 bucks.... Total.. Nah Me and a friend of mine are making a game. So far so Good. and We didn't Need School for it Self Learned(lol). C++, Visual Basics, We made a Beta In Game maker Via Simplified Coding..
-
Game tester sounds fun...
But its boring as hell lol
Not much pay
And you have to play the same level over and over and over agian for like a week constantly, looking for bugs
And yes, agreed (well with most of you), satisfiying jobs that pay less are better
rather than the oppisite
-
I'll admit that i'm all about the money although I have a passion for law and a true interest in psychology, Works out well for me :D
-

If the more interesting job pays more, its obvious to go with it
Law and psychology?
Don't they get tons of money?
Lol
If thats your thing, go for it
-
i want to me 1) a cook... or ... 2)mechanic
-
Don't you think there's a too many people studying law and psychology?
In a few years all England will have will be lawyers and psychologists so why not choose something different? And if you go and get a degree in law/psychology but you find out you don't want to be a professional in that line of work, then what other jobs could you get?
I am going get a masters degree in automotive engineering as i can go and do anything with it when i have done it. I can even become an accountant but what i would really like to do is go into F1. Travel the world, work with amazing cars and get lots of money :w00t:
