Awesome site!
First of all i'm new here and to psp modding and i am ready for my psp's mods. :yess:
The only thing i would like to know is what type of rezistors i need for red leds and for green leds and how many ohm i need!
-
welcome home lol you just need to use the led calculator i forgot the link but its posted somewhere.

(Supply Voltage - Led forward voltage)

Thank you all guyszzzzzzzzz! :hifive:
-
Are you connecting it to the 5v or the 3.6v points?
-
I'm soldering to the 5v point with Parallel connection!

Ok, so lemme check
Im guessing you know the basics of electronics, so here it goes:
The green ones will need 100ohms
and the reds will need 150hms
Red uses 2v whereas green uses 3v
By the way, these are both at the correct voltages and at 20mA (what the should run at) so they won't use much power and not generate pretty much any heat at all (also it has a longer life, at these rates its about 100,000 hours, whereas some people feed like 2.6v to the red and 3.6 to the green and the last about 100-300 hours)
EDIT: Any wattage will do fine in the PSP (that is above 1/8th watt), aslong as their is not over about 10 of each LED, also 1/8th watt resistors are the best for the PSP since they are tiny (sometimes the SMD resistors are better for size, but much harder to solder to and much size difference tbh when 1/8th watt resistors are about the same size as 1206 resistors)
-
I still can't understand what type of rezistor do i need and how ohm would it be! :dntknw:
So i must buy 1203 rezistors about 150ohm for red and 100ohm for green right?
-
No get 1/8 watt 150ohm and 100 ohm resistors.
-
No get 1/8 watt 150ohm and 100 ohm resistors.
That is what he said he was getting
-
Why'd he say 1203 resistors?
-
Why'd he say 1203 resistors?
Because he wants SMD resistors? Jeez...
-
Thank you all guys!
-
1203 rezistors
you mean 1206 right :victory:
-
Yes!
Is this rezistor the correct one http://www.led1.de/shop/product_info.php?pName=resistor-150-ohm-1-w-5-p-315&cName=resistors-025w1w-c-6 (http://www.led1.de/shop/product_info.php?pName=resistor-150-ohm-1-w-5-p-315&cName=resistors-025w1w-c-6)

yes right value but that one is not surface mount if smt is what you wanted.
here is the 1206 smt version of that resistor

So i need smt rezistors right? But they are hard to solder them...

you don't need them, but they so much more easy to fit in a psp. Soldering 1206 resistors to wire is a breeze if you have a little soldering experience.

Those are 1W, they will be quite large
get 1/8 w resistors, they are pretty much the same size as 1206 resistors (well mine are) and much easier to solder

Ok thank you all for your help :yess: i bought 1206 rezistors 150 ohm for red and 100 ohm for the green!!
No i'm finally ready....

Thanks!
No problem i will post! :hifive:
