Title: PS3 Hardware swap, Easy or hard.

well as the subject states, i would like to know how hard it woukd be to do a physical swap of blue ray disk drive, from another broken PS3. Do i need to match part numbers or anything, the hardware would be swapped between 2 40 gb or 60 gb.

You would just need to swap the dvd boards although I've done it with out swapping board's with no problem :laughing:

the 60, old version 80 and 20 can be interchanged, since they both have original PS2 hardware. the 40 and new 80 GB PS3 dont have PS2 hardware, so only those can be interchanged.
