Title: 191k resistors for sound mod
Post by: PhenomenalDesigns on January 11, 2009, 10:43:38 AM
Does it have to be 191k? Cant it be 180k? or 200k? Since 191ks, cant seem to find them in this country, so Id have to get it imported (£10, for 1 resistor... gotta be kidding me)

Plus with tolarence, its gonna be around the 200k/180k mark anyway, right?

Youncan combine other resistors to = 191. For example: 100k + 90 + 1.

UK they dont sell 90ks either

Plus I am using SMD resistors, since I make the LM386 fit in thin heatshrink (0603 resistors and SMD LM386 manages to fit in 6mm heatshrink

mate, go to maplin (if theres one in your town or go to there website) and get a 180k resistor. they do work with the Im386. if you wanted, you could get a 10k + 1k from there as well to bring it to 191k.

i use 187k-ohm and they work fine

I got some 180K SMD resistors which I was planning to use, and Since I want to make it small as possible, will it be fine?

I don't see any reason why it shouldn't. 180K smd resistor would be fine to use :)

try not to use a resistor higher then 191K ;)
it makes the leds less reactive ;)

you are better of using a 180K resistor then (for example) a 193K
