i swap my case then when i put it together
my lcd displays only black..i tries it with my other lcd its the same...
i'm using phat..please help guys..

Check the backlight connector on the MoBo.
-
i checked and clean it as well
-
is it completely off or is it just the back light. check by going to a light and reflecting it off the screen, u should be able to see the menu. if so then u've blown the fuse and need to bridge it.
-
Man I have the exact same problem I did a case swap for a chrome case on my psp 1000 I got my case off of DX. So far I havent found what is wrong. Do you have sound like me? And the screen is not on or the backlight. Im gona try swaping my brothers power board and motherboard into my psp. I think its a problem with one of the connections or dust. But until one of us finds the answer well have to play with dark screens.

yes!!i only have sounds on it...
my case also from DX...some screws cant fit..
and i have to modify the trims and the case iteself!!!

How do I bridge the 0.5 fuse and would it include a solder because ive never soldered before, and if it does can I get the $12 one at radioshack.

yes you have to solder the 2 points on the fuse together, you can ethier use just a big blob of solder on top of the fuse or get a wire and solder it on top of the fuse. about the $12 soldering iron at radio shack how many watts is the radioshack 1?, the recommended amount for the psp mobo is about 15-20 watts. if its a little bit higher just dont hold it on the mobo for too long when soldering. If your not ready to do this kind of stuff just ask a psp modder to do it, it shouldn't be that much to ship it.
-
I just checked radio shack and it is $10.99 for an electric soldering iron that lets you switch between 15 and 30 watts, and when i solder could I get a short piece of wire and attach it to each metal end of the fuse and then solder it there. I think I might try the usb mod first to get the hang of it.
-
so after i solder the points what will be the outcome of this??
-
Hopefully the screen will work again.
-
is it possible that my mobo is busted??
-
It's possible but it is most likely just that fuse. I'd try that first before getting a new mobo.
-
thanks rceck...
-
what if i just hold the wire on both ends of 0.5 fuse will i see the effect??
or i need to solder it??
-
I put on the blob of solder and still no luck so I am going to swap mobos with my brothers psp cause he doesnt use his anymore and it already has custom fimware installed on it and then downgrade to 4.01m33-2
-
Im not sure if putting on a blob of solder really bridges the fuse and i am going to reapply the solder since i messed up.
-
Putting a blob of solder does bridge it if you have it touching both ends...
-
Thanks, and I tried putting a screwdriver on the fuse to see if the back light would turn on and it did, but the screen either has random lines of color or displays black with gray lines, but it is lit, what may be he problem?
