Title: My new 24" monitor
Post by: loganbyers07 on January 17, 2009, 01:12:13 PM
okay so in a series of questions i.e. do I really need a monitor that is 28" or 26" etc I finally setled on a monitor and have placed the order on it today. it is the Gateway FHD2400 24" Wide screen LCD Monitor. Here is a link to it: Gateway FHD2400 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor (http://www.gateway.com/retail/fhd2400.php)
I bought it refurbished but with a extended warranty. Hopefully it will turn out good. I may be buying a tv tuner card for my computer next so we will see what happens!

I still prefer 2 22's, more workspace overall, even if it's not as large

I guess they are okay but what is the response time?

Don't know response times. I might not settle for those exact ones, either. I think I might settle for better dual 24"s.

My friend said the best 22" 1920x1200 is the L220x...it's expensive though D:

Well hey it's just money you can earn more. LOL

Anyways back on subject. The monitor is coming in today and I am pumped. I was sitting at my desk and then I happened to come across a youtube video about how well there video card does in games etc and I galanced over at my xbox 360. It is sitting beside my desk completely unasymbled. I think that I want to go ahead and order a custom case, put that thing back together, and sell it so that I can buy a gtx280. I think that should be enough for my gaming needs. I did a little bit of gaming earlier on on my AL1917W monitor that I had been using and my card could barely run crysis on medium at 1440 x 900, but I deffinantly prefer pc gaming over the xbox 360. What do you guys think about upgrading to a gtx280?

edit (again): I got the monitor in and it is UNBELIVABLE. I like it alot! I am afraid I will not get up from my computer ever again. Lol
