20 gb 360 is ftw
doesnt answer my ?
-
go 360 and i have n elite and the black looks sick plus you got hdmi out and pleanty of room on the hdd
-
hmm so i should get a pro bundle? my sis is buying me it so i dont wanna get her broke :( even though she makes __________ loads.
-
yeah go pro, mine has the HDMI port and so should yours. Look around and you might find a jasper console in a Arcade version then just get the 120 HDD.
-
Well I'd say go for it if you're gonna use it, I'm planning on selling my 360 over the summer so I can pay off other expenses...

Yea, make sure you get a Jasper console. They have lower chance of the RRoD. Before you buy it, check the place where the serial number is and the 12v should say 12.1A.
-
in my openion, for what its worth. the pro is not the way to go unless you plan to download a boat load of info and to hord it all!!!
ALL new Xbox 360's even the arcade has the HDMI port now!! and they all use the same gpu this was a myth (sorry elite buyers, you got ripped) as long as you check the date stamp and it reads newer than june 2008, it will be a jasper and prolong the life of the unit.
the only thing to consider here is the size of the hard drive.

I suggest going to DELL and using their 15% off coupon codes they have been having lately. The other day they had and arcade for $179 with a couple of crap games. If you go the arcade route then you can easily find a 20gb hdd on the cheap.
$254 for the 60gb pro right now:

I usually see this stuff from http://www.techbargains.com (http://www.techbargains.com)
And Ya, 360 is the way to go for gaming. PS3 has found a little more popularity as a multimedia entertainment system cuz of blue ray, but that is not a factor for me with all the HD content available on my cable box.
and matt is right HDMI is not a consideration as they all have it now.

I purchased my arcade xbox 360 for £99 including the game "your in the movies" and i got a harddrive for £20 off this website http://www.xboxstorageupgrade.com/hh/web/home/hhauthentication.jsp (http://www.xboxstorageupgrade.com/hh/web/home/hhauthentication.jsp) All woorks great for £120!
-
see if i get pro i cant get the hd and if i get pro itll come with the hd. so what a 60gb hd cost 100 dollars soo arcade bundle = 200 plus 60gb hd 100 that equals to a pro bundle.
i think i will go pro because of the things that will come with it :D
av cable plus hd.
all 360 games plus original xbox games
headset
lan cord
those are the things that come with the pro bundle and those are the things that dont come with the arcade bundle.
-
Yeah, Pro is great for your first 360 because Arcade doesn't come w/ HD cables and such. I would recommend the Pro now so you have a headset and everything. Then in the future, add an arcade for another room in your house and buy a 120gig.
-
get the pro, it has a 60 gig drive, you will still need to buy an hdmi cable for true hd
the pro costs $299 still need hdmi cable
the arcade +60 gig hdd= $299 still need hdmi cable
or save $50 and get the normal xbox 360 console for $250 it has a smaller hdd. (20gig) and you still need hdmi cable
so it dont matter, my arcade came with a headset also, but I dont see it listed in the specs. and I would play the arcade games more than the crap that comes with the pro.
the thing that matters is that you are purchasing the best gaming system available, and whatever system you buy, keep it clean (free of dust) and cool (place in well ventalated area)

I would have to go with "not" being a 360 owner. The ONLY thing I like about it is the controller. The PS3 is looking pretty good to me right now. Being I dont have a 360 to play since it is on the road to the repair center. If you think you can use the PS controller (as it hasnt really changed since they think they nailed it with their first design with ps1.) GO WITH IT.. It is only usually $100 more and that will soon be made up if you plan to connect using wifi. If you wanted to use wifi on 360 you must shell out another $100 for the adapter. M$$$ couldnt come up with a way to have a built in wifi.
-
tha problem with that, is as stated in gameinformer magazine this month "xbox 360 owners who enjoy online game play, and change to ps3 will never be happy, it is like steping back in time" granted the graphics and media functionality are better yes, the 360 is more focused on the gaming industry.
then here comes the issue of paying for online membership. compare the two, xbox 360 owners get all DLc before ps3, some DLC only goes to 360. so there are pros and cons to both, it depends on what you want out of the system
if you want the BEST GAMING platform EVER------xbox 360
if you want to play some games, watch some movies, surf the web (limited functionality of each)----ps3
-
wow, not a lot of support for the PS3 in here......... BTW Dell has 360 arcades for $160 shipped free(watch techbargains for details) That and less then a month ago you could get another controller and a 20gb hard drive for $40(probly can still find em, if not King_Mike has a bunch of 20gb HDDs). Saw 13 months of LIVE for $30 too(techbargains). A savvy consumer could be fully set up for less then $250 on a 360(Including LIVE).
The LIVE is what sells 360 for me, matt is correct once you go on LIVE you wont want to switch to PSN.
PS3's fatal flaw was focusing too much on being a media machine and not a gaming system first........I already have a media machine and I am typing on it right now. This year will probably be the best indication of whether PS3 will end up with the market share they need.
-
Thanks for the headsup on the site and the deals! Wow, arcade 360 for only 160. Good deal!
-
I have to go with USER12835, but in honest opinion just wait till April there's going to be a price drop for Ps3s to about $300 bux im assuming. by then Sony will start to focus more one the gaming since their is gonna be more gaming on the Ps3. I myself am a Sony fan, but even though i could have gotten a Ps3 i found myself buying a Xbox 360 instead not only for the great online play, but since the majority of my friends owned one so i wanted to join them. at the end i regret it you will constantly be investing in your Xbox with live and DLC and eventually the timer will go off with the RROD i experienced myself and luckly I repaired two RROD Xboxs successfully. I'm not trying to flame or say that Xbox is inferior to Ps3 I'm just saying that you will like the Xbox at first with the great releases and awesome DLC, but in the long run Ps3 is a better system in terms of hardware and freedom to mod your system.
-
Technically, it's easier to mod the xbox360 hardware wise, than the beast of a ps3. I heard the ps3 breaks easily when you mod it. But I'd probably buy a ps3... It's supposedly more expensive, but like USER said, the wireless adapter costs a lot.
-
yea i think xbox360 is definitely easier to mod. just that damn M$ always gets pissy when you mod and ban you from live god..*sigh i remember when that happened to me banned for a half a year weird # lol.
-
Lol you must've been doing something else, or you had so many mods your power draw was huge, because typically M$ doesn't ban simple mods like added leds.
-
it was the power draw i did the fan mod try to get more juice lol
-
That is true about a 360 being a constant investment. I think more people who bought a 360 came to find out it was not their last (either buying an arcade so they can play while 1 was down or from sending it in and getting charged for a repair or replacement) And I am not convinced that Live is sooo much better then PSN I did notice more dropped games on PSN but there no guarantees with Live and the same things happen...
-
Stop bumping this, he already decided he was getting something else, if I remember correctly...
And, dude, why can't you just talk to an admin about your name already? You have no idea how annoying that is.
-
Are you sure that's not his actual username and he's just using it to be funny? But yeah the original poster made like 20 posts pertaining to "what to get"
-
No it's not a joke, Robin changed it because his name was unacceptable.
