Title: i need a soldering iron
Post by: FreeK on January 22, 2009, 07:25:24 PM: im trying to do this bawls bottle thing and im destroying led wires like nothing. its getting annoying

would a lighter work?

ripping them off the LED.

and folklord i ment like to connect the wire back to the LED, if thats soldering then ok.

Post by: bustinthejustin on January 22, 2009, 07:40:44 PM: u can't reconnect the wire to the led with a lighter... that's soldering. As for recommended irons, just use a cheap radioshack 15w one. These are smd leds? What technique are you using, and how long are you applying heat? If you apply heat too long, the other lead will come off, and you'll probably just kill your led eventually.
