I saw an accelemeter at Radio Shack today when I went to unsuccessfully pick up some LEDs and it gave me an idea. By switiching a switch somewhere on the PSP (I'm hoping the wifi switch will work), it will do the same things as some of the buttons. I'm just not sure which buttons it will control. I'm thinking maybe tilt left for L and and tilt right for R for Loco Roco. Maybe have an on/off switch for the accelemeter, then a 3 way switch for the L/R combination, one for the D-Pad, and the last for the Analog. I'm just throwing out ideas because I'm planning on doing this, I'm just kinda fuzy on the details.

I think this (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2909788) is the one.

That would be cool. It would be like a racing game on the iPhone/iPod touch where you tilt to steer. I have an iPod touch and to control it that way is quite fun. But you need a pic to get that accelerometer to do anything useful for you. Also if your gonna use it to control the analog stick for like raging games, you are gonna need an analog output. But if someone can get this working that would be cool.
But I think someone has done somthing like this before. I believe it is somewhere in the tutorial section. Good luck.

Tilt/Motion can be very easily achieved via mercury switches. This hack was done back in the day to dreamcast controllers which of course makes me wonder why it took so ling for companies to think of things like six-axis or this although the wii is alot different its besically a light gun (like from NES days ROFL). In all actuality though the whole tile/motion thing to me is rather annoying and gimmmicy.

Couldn't you just directly solder it to the D-Pad and/or other butons?

It's a little complicated, but you would need to have a way to convert it from digital to analog signals, and also it would need a PIC to tell it the commands for what to do, and when.

It would just be like a analog imput wouldn't it? It's got 6 pins, 1 for power, 1 for ground, and 4 for directions. Couldn't you just solder each directional pin to the corisponding D-Pad button?

No, it goes by the same reason that you need to a razor x board to do the Duel Nub mod. It needs to convert the kind of input. It wouldn't be that hard to do, if you know what you're doing with a PIC. I think this has been done before, so try searching it.

Ok thanks alentris.

Ok thanks alentris.
Don't mention it. But if you do end up doing this I'd love a vid
