Title: [Solved] LCD Backlight Contacts
Post by: Thorax on February 05, 2009, 02:01:46 PM
I was modding my PSP and the little tab for the LCD's backlight broke off. So I put some tape on it to hold it in place. I accidently got some sticky stuff on the contacts and now my screen won't light up at all. How can I get rid of the stuff?

P.S. I have a new mobo in my PSP that has the tab.

Take some fingernail polish remover or something and rub on the contacts. Make sure you wipe the contacts off before you plug it back in. The backlight will work w/o the tape.

Ok, thanks. I was using the tape to hold the contacts to the pins.

Np.
The pins should be able to have contact without anything supporting it. If it don't work, i suggest gently bending the pins and then inserting the ribbon cable (for a strong hold)

The new mobo won't even hold the ribbon in place. I put the ribbon in as far as it will go and close the tab. But then the ribbon falls out. I know the screen isn't broken because I can see the picture when I hold a light to the screen. And how do you bend the pins?

I beleive you can just take a knife or something and press on the pins. The ones under the black tab (if there is one)

I tried that and it still doesn't work... Any other ideas?
