I would like to ask of you: How do you feel financial crisis in your life ?
-
My bank intrest droped like 50% :(
-
Not really affected cause my parents sorta indirectly work for the government and I'm in Canada so we're less affected.
-
hmm i just found out im negative .18 in my bank account lmao. and im still confused about some stuff. im waiting on some stuff and money from people -_-
-
this is going to lead to politics and that is a no no on acid mods because people get angry and argue there beliefs
-
as tec_ said, don't mention politics at all and this thread should be fine.
just answer the main question, how has the financial crisis affected you
any other posts will be dealt with as off topic

tbh

Yeah for me it sorta benefits me... I mean, my parent's income hasn't really changed so we still have just as much money to spend, but prices of everything are going down, including stuff on ebay (broken psps, etc.)

yes but ware will you be geting you money from?
-
My parents lol, and like I said, their income hasn't really changed yet so I'm not affected yet either. But no, they don't give me that much money =\
-
my income hasnt changed, but the prices of things are definately going up. The cost of food is the big killer for me, supermarket bills have almost doubled in the past year for me. If it wasnt for gas being at $2 gallon I dont know if I could continue without making some cuts in luxury expenses like Cable/internet and Live/ video games :boxed:
However that could all change depending on whether my company secures more contracts. my job may be vulnerable to gov't cuts. Definately seeing the effects in the construction industry as many of my nail pounding friends have no work right now. The bailout may seem like giving crooks more money, and it may be, but I would hate to guess what might happen if this whole thing doesnt get nipped in the bud asap.

You do realize how little you will make with that small of an amount of money. In order to be profitable you need to go in with tens of thousands of dollars.

exactly what i was going to say.

Hmm, well I just found out that my dad is now only working 4 days a week, and he's the vice president of operations at his job. I guess that means his pay was just cut by 20 percent... how's that for an effect...
-
it doesnt really affect me as i dont have a job at the minute and because im a student i get a government loan that i only need to pay back when i earn more than £15000 a year and then its at like £5 a week or something and i manage to stretch food quite well. i might start to feel the strain over the summer when i struggle to find a summer job but thats in the future so i will cross that bridge then
-
my dad dosn't have a job because his ex-boss is a douche who dragged us out here
otherwise my mom is doing normal/fine
i'm doing okay
etc.
-
i am scheduled for 3 hours this week... then nothing for 2 weeks...
-
i'm stuck in a position at a job i hate doing with no chance of being promoted because they don't want to have to hire someone to replace me. i'm sure no option to move up is a huge part of most peoples lives at the current, at least in the states. oh well.. i'm glad to have a job currently.
-
Well I am affected sort of since my place of employment after school in which I am guaranteed a job, has just laid off 20 people and they have not laid anyone off in the 50 years they have been in business. As for a job now I just got hired on working at walmart today which is good since most people are getting laid off and I'm getting a job.

I am applying for a job so that I can pay for my insurance because that is going to be $100 a month. And also becuase I want to support apple and buy a new macbook :dribble:
-
lol apple dont need your support as they got $20 billion dollers stashed
-
Wow how does it affect me..... Well I have worked for a Fortune 500 company for the past 15 years of my life.. Over that time I have managed to save a killing in my 401K... As of October this year to present day, my 401k savings was cut in half. Monday last week my boss told me that our team of four people will be splitting up into two groups.. the Run/Support group and the Build group. Now unless I fill you in on the background and the pros and cons you wont understand why this is bad, but I'll spare you. Instead I'll tell you the outcome. According to my Sr. manager I'll be moving to the Run/Support group which is managed by another team of people in SC... To add to that I learned that a number of people will be umm let go on Friday. The question now is what team will be let go?? Fill you in on Friday when I find out.... Maybe I'll turn modder for hire

wow its only 100?
here in dallas mines 300 to 350

my insurance is closer to $40 a month but that is for just liablility on a 1998 Blazer and I am 26 without any speeding tickets since I was 16.
$350 a month, sounds like you have full coverage in part of town that has a lot of stolen vehicles....or a DUI, that can really mess up the ol insurance.
Have fun with that, if I were you I would buy a bus pass

Make sure they don't make you work overtime. they don't pay overtime and the managers will try to make you work overtime. They have been trained to cheat you out of working overtime and not pay. I just watched "walmart the high cost of low prices" at my school and it's terrible what they do to people. You should watch it too to protect yourself as information is power.
-
my insurence is £2700 for fully comp with a £500 excess and i live in a good part of town. but i am 19 and have been involved in 1 crash.
btw thats for a 1 littre nissan micra v reg 2000
so £225 a month so like $325 a month
-

TNT is feeling it hit them. Hard. Tehy changed the payment terms with some people they have a contract. Why does that affect me? My dad has a multi-million pound contract with TNT. But on the other hand, he is trying to secure a contract with the Olympic committee. Basically, if this contract goes through, ALL 2012 Olympic merchandise will be transported from the docks to the stroes By his company.
