Sorry for posting this in the wrong section, if I put it in PC, it would take forever to be awnsered. Ok so here it goes: I got an Ancer Aspire One for my birthday, and i want to partition the HDD so i can install more OS's. I dont want to delete the XP that already came on it, it saves me the headache from having to search down drivers later from installing my "aquired" windows. Anyone know any good, FREE, partitioning software? Dont worry about bootloaders, i have EasyBCD.
-
EasyBCD sucks.
Just defrag Windows, shrink the partition, and make a new one out of the unallocated space created from the shrink.

keep your opinion of my choice of bootloaders to yourself. Dont care about it.
It has XP Home edition, when i go to try to partition / shrink / pretty much manage anything the HDD at all, it doesnt come up when i right click in vista. i need SOFTWARE that partitons

No EasyBCD isn't even a bootloader, don't tell me about computers.
You don't NEED a software. You can do everything from within Diskpart in Windows.

I'm telling you how to do it.
Defrag the Windows partition and then go into Diskpart and shrink it. Then just make a new partition from the unallocated space.
You don't need anything extra.
EasyBCD isn't a bootloader. It's a Windows bootloader EDITOR. And, the Windows bootloader is garbage, I suggest getting GRUB. It's much easier to use and highly customizable, let alone easier to dual boot with.
