i just bought an xbox off a friend for 10 bucks. i went to plug in the power cord and it made a spark and made a poping noise at the same time. i thought it could have been it grounding out or something because there was some screws raddleing around inside. i took out the screws but it still did the same thing. i unpluged in as soon as i saw the sparks so i dont know if it even turns on. can someone pease help me on figureing out what is going on.

I bought an xbox for my father and turned it in to a media center and it does that every time the power plug is plugged in to it. And nothing happens it should be fine i don't think it will harm your psp try plugging it in faster and straight as possible.
Or unplug the cord from the wall then plug it in to the xbox then in to the wall if it pops then, there is a more serious prob.

-
Lol so you got an xbox for christmas, left if at your parent's house, and now he won't let you take it so you bought him another one?
-
ya it was only 10 bucks so i bought it. i want to do some modding to it. paint it blue and white. with blue leds in the center. also change the leds in the front to blue and white.

i seriously hope that the power point/switch is turned off first before plugging it in then turn it on .. thats the safest way to plug things in .
i nearly got electricuted by plugging in the clothes dryer machine while the switch was on ( it did threw oiut sparks and bit of a bang noise ) cos i was tired and couldnt be bothered to turn it off first place.... so i got into trouble with my mum .... mouthing her head off at me .. lolol

...do you even know what you're talking about? The 360 doesn't even HAVE a power switch... you plug it in then turn it on...
-
...Actually we're in the legacy consoles, xbox section. But either way, the xbox doesn't have a switch either. It's a push button, if I remember correctly.
-
i meant the wall socket where you plug from the wall to 360. i dont know what you american call them but here we call them power point
-
Well, xbox doesn't have a switch either.
Sockets don't have switches on them. Yes, you can have a wall switch for the socket, no it does not make a difference on whether you plug it in whilst it's on or off.

check inside the power plug on the xbox, check if theres anything in there thats not supposed to be (dirt, dust, rust, etc)
it might be sparking off that.
